Conservatives roar; GOP trembles
Many top Republicans are growing worried that the party’s chances for reversing its electoral routs of 2006 and 2008 are being wounded by the flamboyant rhetoric and angry tone of conservative activists and media personalities, according to interviews with GOP officials and operatives.
Congressional leaders talk in private of being boxed in by commentators such as Glenn Beck and Rush Limbaugh — figures who are wildly popular with the conservative base but wildly controversial among other parts of the electorate, and who have proven records of making life miserable for senators and House members critical of their views or influence.
Some of the leading 2012 candidates are described by operatives as grappling with the same tension. The challenge is to tap into the richest source of energy in the party — the disgust of grass-roots conservative activists with President Barack Obama and their hunger for a full-throated attack on his agenda — without coming off to the broader public as cranky and extreme.

Progressive, conservative, is there a difference? I'd contend all politicians are progressive. Conservative is just a word to describe someone who wants to progress at a somewhat slower rate in a somewhat different direction.
This liberty movement needs to sever the conservative label. We don't need to pursue liberty in a conservative manner, we need to pursue liberty progressively.
We need people to wake up to the reality that labels such as progressive and conservative, left and right, republican and democrat are meaningless. All of these "public servants" are leading us away from the constitution, some progressively, some conservatively.

The corporate Republican party hasn't lost a step in moving us further into socialism and fascism at ever greater speeds. the idea that there is a political solution to this with the US Corporation is the biggest lie of all!

still ignoring Paul. The media is going to be in for a big effing surprise the next time around. We have the internet, the truth and a blinding desire to make our issues heard. We continue to grow while the GOP sits around farting and bitching about real grassroots conservatives. Reagan would have never won without Goldwater... Maybe Rand.. Johnson.. I dont know but the GOP will never get the support back that they lost until it changes policy.
It is Paul supporters that will rebrand the Republican party whether the GOP likes it or not. We want what government cant give us... FREEDOM.
