What we are up against, people on a whole have no understanding of freedom

This is long sorry, but it really "woke" me up to how clueless the general population still is.

I got an e-mail from my chiropractor yesterday, it was a link to Lord Monckton's speech, that was all. With the title "wake up obama threat is real" Just the video and the text.

He sent it to several folks, among them patients like myself, tv & radio station workers, lawyers, and others, all of which were his friends. It wasn't spam on his part, I have talked to him this morning, he called to apologize to me, he was simply trying to inform folks that he thought were his friends. It was about 15 folks total.

Well this morning I got e-mails from 2 people I have never met, that sent their responses to all the folks on the original e-mail. Here are their responses, with no names other than their first:

1st from "Betsy"

As a very proud liberal American, I believe in your right to express your opinion. However, I worked on the Obama campaign and I believe that we elected the right guy for the job. For the sake of the planet, the world must come together to fight the problems that humans have created.

I read the blog for which you sent the link. The representations made are simply not true. The person quoted does not believe in climate change. There are a few lines pulled out of a 200 page treaty with headings added. This blog, although perhaps a good source of conservative opinion, is not a good source for facts. I would encourage everyone to seek out the facts about the treaty.

I encourage discussion and debate on matters of public concern. These days, with the Internet, it is really important to know who is posting an article and whether the facts set out are accurate. There is a lot of misinformation out there and it is incumbent upon an informed citizenry to verify the veracity of the information. These days, that takes a lot of effort.

I checked out the author of "Atlas Shrugs", Pamela Geller. She does not have a reputation for being unbiased. She is the person who claimed on the same blog that Rachel Ray's scarf on a Dunkin Donuts ad was the same scarf Yasser Arafat wore and therefore, was "jihadist". This is a woman who has denied the Holocaust. The name of her blog indicates her political bent. (Although I really liked the book Atlas Shrugged, I am aware that Ayn Rand's writings have become important to extreme right wingers. I think it very interesting that she was an avowed atheist. I guess her ultra-conservative fans choose to ignore that part of her beliefs.) This is not a person I would rely upon for factual information.
This post also has questions whether Barack Obama is a valid President. There is no factual basis for this assertion. I think those who question Barack Obama's legitimacy as President are people who cannot accept that this country elected an African-American as President and that the "birther movement" has racism at its roots. I do not support any form of racism.

While I respect your right to have and express your beliefs, I have decided that I must respond whenever I receive e-mails of this nature, no matter who they are from, even good friends like you I always copy everyone on the distribution for emails of this nature because I would not want anyone to think, because of my silence, that I think this blog is a reliable source of information or that I endorse these views.

"First let me say something to set the record straight. I'm a friend of Tom's. I know from the last 8 years of not only my interaction, but my families interaction that Tom is a stand up guy and not a racist. I understand that some people take things way to serious. I'm glad Tom sent me the information because it lets us know that we as a people still have some work to be done in our society. As a people yes we must verify all information that we impart to others, but when it comes to friends we also know that are friends send us info to alert us of what is out there. Tom you are a friend of my family. I'm Afican American and I can say that Tom you will always be a friend of mine. Tom doesn't have a jealous, racisty, fighting, bone in his little body. Yes I have seen him at his best. Tom I welcome the info. When I sent the reply back it was for the fact the internet is filled with bad information that it nothing else, but we also know that are people of all color who still can't stand any other color. Lets be real here. Tom I Love You and thanks for taking care of me and my family for the last 8 years. Huh? He is racist because of this?

I sent this response to the folks, and this will be all I send since I don't know nor care to know them for the most part. And I don't want anyone spamming me anymore than I want to spam them. But, I had to say it.

"My Name is Jonathan O'Dell, I don't know Betsy, I don't know Lorenzo. While I respect your right to believe as you do, I further support the right of the Congress and President to believe as they do, PERSONALLY, but not professionally. The reason being in their professional lives their votes and actions are supposed to reflect the will of the majority of their constituents, as far as the rule of law will allow. Their actions are not supposed to reflect their personal views or the views of a group of other nations.

(I'm the big one). So since I didn't like Bush does that mean I am a racist cause he was white? No, anymore so than it makes me a racist because I don't like Obama.

I dislike both because instead of doing their JOB and acting as the representative of the people of the United States, they both chose instead to act in their own interest and the interest of other nations and the Federal Reserve. Congress is and was complicit as well.

I have the right to be left alone, you do to. You have the right to do whatever you want to do as long as it doesn't harm another. Your rights end where mine are infringed. As do mine with yours.

We can't convey any rights past these to our officials. That means that they aren't supposed to harm us because that infringes on our rights.

We all have the right to success in life and we all have the equal right to fail miserably, by our own actions.

But, guess what? Both Bush and Obama and the respective Congresses have infringed on that right for all of us. Bush spent more money in 7 years than all the Presidents from Washington till Clinton combined (money that had to be created out of thin air and exist in no form except our posterity's slavery), then in 5 months Obama spent more than that!!

The effect of this is going to be hyper-inflation, poverty, and the fall of our country. Have you noticed prices rising? Well the goods and services have achieved no more intrinsic value, our fiat currency notes have just lost value.

Yes, I don't like ether one of them democrats nor republicans, they are one in the same, so I must be the worst kind of racist I hate my assumed own kind as well.

If this treaty is signed it matters not if the Senate ratifies it, we'll live under it, we live under the shadow of executive orders and illegal treaties already. When cap and trade passes along with this we are less than a week away from being a third world country. We already have trucking firms that can't afford fuel, what will happen when another federal fuel tax is added on?

Nearly everything in our society operates on a just in time inventory system, trucks don't run for a couple of days most of you won't eat.

But, we must do this to save the world right?

How arrogant is it to think that man can do a thing to God's world without God? What is the base of all life on earth? It is CARBON!!!

I pray that one day I can have as much faith in the God of creation as the global warming, non-thinking for themselves, true racist, rightest and leftest have in their twin gods of government and junk science. This said I am not an anarchist, I am a Constitutionalists, not only when it serves my purposes but when it holds me back as well.

Try to not act on "I feel" or "I believe", don't trust implicitly in others to tell you what to do or believe. Think for your self people, if I couldn't come up with any better argument against another's position other than "that is racist" then I wouldn't speak. Because "the president said so" or "Glenn Beck said so" is no better reason.

1st off I challenge you to name 3 things that the federal government does not regulate, legislate, or mandate in your life. . . . . . . . . . Okay since you couldn't do that name one. . . . . . .Okay since you couldn't do that, admit you are for all practical purposes a slave, as will be our children, if we don't start to think and do for ourselves, and stop allowing democrats and republicans to run our lives for us.

2nd read the United States Constitution, don't trust others to tell you what it says, read it. It grants no rights to you, it only grants specific privileges to the Federal government. Your rights are natural you have then regardless of the actions or words of another.

3rd Stop falling back into a group mindset, when you were born did a bunch of other folks pop out at the same time from the same womb? (If so congrats on having a twin) otherwise you belong to no group naturally, you only belong to the groups you allow yourself to be in. Stand on your own 2 feet, and think and do for yourself and your family. If you so weak of a person that you must fall back into a group status when ever you are threatened you are exactly where the democrats and republicans want you, you are part of a herd of easily controlled sheep.

4th no hard feelings, I don't know you, but I care for your well being. We are all in this world together as individuals and it serves no purpose for us to be against each other.

5th after you have read the US Constitution, and realize that for the last 100 plus years we all have been turned into slaves and operate in no shape or form like we were intended to be, then get mad and elect people that will strictly adhere to it.

You want to be liberal? Great, under the Constitution you have that right, if enough of you control the voting block of a State then your state can be as liberal as it wants, it just can't do anything to harm the other states.

You want to be a neo-conservative, you can you just have to do it in your own state.

Read it, think, and elect folks that will abide by it."

So far I have got the responses, "what a joke", and "don't send me any e-mails". And I won't, It just burned me up that these two twits spamed all these folks that "Tom" my chiropractor sent something to in an act of friendship seeking only to inform.

We for the most part I think have insulated ourselves from how completely clueless the average American is, this reminded me today.
