Body Armour to be illegal in British Columbia, Canada
Our fascist provincial government has been passing legislation almost daily which restrict our freedoms of speech and assembly.
This week they introduced and are expected to pass a law which makes it illegal for anyone other than the police or specified security personel to own or wear bullet proof clothing.
They can enter our homes if they don't like protest signs in our windows or think we might be printing off protest materials. Right now it is aimed at Olympic and OIC protests (February 2010 Winter Olympics here) but it will remain. Mark my words. And of course we cannot protest the Olympics, the OIC, the billiions in cost overruns or the new laws restricting our freedoms anywhere except select cages which will be set up around the area.
Be very afraid.
The time has come for a revolution in Canada.

Seriously, how can anyone vote for something so completely idiotic. With guns, at least I can sort of understand how sufficiently gullible back markers with no ability to form independent thoughts and zero exposure to anything but the nonsensical indoctrination that passes for education these days, think of them as being "bad", because they can be used to kill people. While body armor is absolutely no threat to anyone. It only helps prevent you from getting hurt. Like wearing a helmet on a motorcycle.
As bad as the US is, Canada is obviously a lot worse. Sad thing is, unless some of our more enlightened states simply secede, this kind of utterly childish idiocy may show up here soon, as well. It's not like our national level politicians, nor the moronic national majority who repeatedly vote the trash into power, can be counted on to ever come up with a single thought extending beyond let's ban something, tax something, harass someone......
Some background on this
The people who are wearing the body armor are certain drug dealers. They wear it because they are trying to kill each other. They are trying to kill each other because the government has made distribution of a plant illegal and instructed an armed gang (the police) to attack them.
So as usual, the solution government proposes to the problem it caused is to restrict everyone's freedom even more.

In fact, the government was auctioning it off online just a few months ago.
The gangs here are pretty active and there are a lot of gun related murders and shootings. Drugs are illegal and very profitable doncha know. It is well known that the gangs have armour and armour plated cars also.
This is a strike at our fundamental freedoms.
