Nah it's down again, and Gold is off 20.00 from it's high...

And Silver was over 20.00 about a year ago...so Silver is actually DOWN

Its manipulated. Silver should be well over $100 by now

and gold ought to have been over $2,000 to fully represent a 4cent U.S. dollar while interest rates ought to be about 33% to attract enough savings to put into mortgages. That would be what the 'free' market ought to be at right now.

Right.

Anyone who, 2 years ago, bought silver at $20 to $22, thinks that it should be at least $100.00 by now.

But it's not. And you may turn blue holding your breath.

VLBC...absolutely RIGHT!

Dollar Index chart

Anyone know the best place to check throughout the day to see what the dollar index is doing? That would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Wow, thanks!

I never knew that chart was on here! haha

only thing with silver...

is that we have a flat tax 25% here in Sweden on it..gold has no such tax..
how does it work in the USA ?....

About gold, considering the dollar may fall flat...seems I have a currency risk if I buy gold...though perhaps gold will rise more than the dollar will fall... ??

Silver Taxes on EU countries VARIES

EU countries have only a 7% tax on Silver legal tender coins versus a standard 19% tax on Silver bullion bars/rounds.

EU countries have no tax Gold bullion or Gold legal tender coins.

Legal tender coins are the best way to go!

All the cheapies out there buying no name rounds and weak hallmark oversize bars are gonna get burned when they go to cash out at the top of this market. Eagles #1 Maples #2 Philharmonics #3 (unless you are in Europe where the order may be reversed).

Just keep in mind that the fluctuation in gold is very correlated to the action of the currency you are pricing it in. I don't know what's expected to happen with the Krona, but if you feel the Krona will be increasing in value then you might not want to be buying gold, because you'll get fewer Krona back when you sell the gold. With USD it might be completely opposite in that you would get a lot more back for the gold (if inflation hits hard here & the USD value is hammered).

...

So, silver is flirting with 10% BELOW

what it was 2 years ago.

Is that something to be excited about?

Maybe so ... it could still be 30% to 40% below, as it has been for the last year or so.

Well, if the DOW is 30% off

Well, if the DOW is 30% off its peak and silver is 10% off its peak, which do you think has recovered better?

It's quite the game,

isn't it!

The Dollar vs Other Currencies

The dollar index, as of this writing is 75.28, so it's clinging to the precipice by its fingertips.

Against the other currencies, the dollar is doing fine against the yen, but is losing to 'The Big Dog,' the Euro, which is over 1.50 now. Among the strongest foreign currencies are the Australian dollar and Norwegian krone.

The Canadian dollar almost reached parity with the U.S. dollar, but the USD rallied; also true against the Swiss franc, which is at virtual parity now (1.0063)

This is an excellent time to get into foreign currencies. If you saw Gerald Celente's video ("There is no recovery... it's a cover-up!") You heard him say that he was invested in both dollars and euros. Smart. But if he were really smart, he would be in Australian dollars also.

The dollar is slipping, but not rapidly. This means your buying power is about the same as it was yesterday. This is an excellent time to think about getting into online banking and into other currencies.
