The First Daily Paul Peace Award

0 votes

Goes to Ron Paul! quiltingsando came up with the idea, and she made the gift that goes with the award - a qulliow with her grassroots liberty symbol. We're sending it to Dr. Paul, along with this thread so post your comments to our favorite doctor below!

Here is a picture of the award.

(Click on the image for a closer view)

If you recall, quilting made that very nice get well gift for Mrs. Paul when she was sick. And she made this beautiful Daily Paul quilt for my wife and I that we snuggle under on the couch. And a while back we had an auction of quilting's quillows that raised over $500 for our liberty candidates! We have #5, which we also love.

She's been busy!

Quilting's words:

I am worried the Daily Paul family might think I am grand standing or something but I just wanted to do something nice because Obama got an award and I thought we should have our own award to someone who has helped us all become better citizens. It only seem fitting that Dr. Paul be the first to receive this award, after all the site is named after him. We come to the Daily Paul because of him and his message and the award is the "Peace, Prosperity & Freedom" Award his own words. It doesn't seem right to give it to someone else the first time. Sometimes, when we think we are doing something nice it can backfire on us.

Thank you quiltingsando & thank you Ron Paul.

A True Peace Prize

Dear Dr. Paul,

I remember the first time I heard of you. It was shortly after 9/11 and my older brother, who "brainwashed" me with ideals of liberty at such a young age, handed me an article about "Dr. No." I learned this Dr. No was actually Dr. Ron Paul, a republican from Texas, who was addressing the house and defending our liberties.

In such a heightened state of emotional distress and many demanding that we need more security and less freedom and more war, you were shouting Peace. I didn't hear you shout NO, rather...Yes. Yes to peace, to liberty, and to the people. After I read that article I declared "if this man ever runs for President he has my vote."

Not only did you have my vote but also my heart, sweat, and tears. Because of your voice, standing up for The People, you helped unite many who feel the same. During the campaign we all worked hard getting the word out, going to rallies, sign wavings (at 6am in the morning might I add), and meet up groups...all in the name of Peace and Liberty. And although your presidential campaign may have ended...our message and our perseverance has not!

Congratulations in being awarded a true peace prize

DF

Your work is Beautiful, quilting!

And your spirit is too! Thank you so much for bringing this opportunity to us! This is the most fitting award I have ever heard of and I am honored to be able to play even the most minor part in expressing profound gratitude to you and Dr Paul.

Dearest Dr. Paul,
I never in my Wildest dreams ever thought I would or could say I loved a politician, but you are an exception in every positive way. I love you Dr Paul! There are many times out here while working towards restoring the Constitution and our liberties that it gets deeply discouraging. I can honestly say that in those moments, the thoughts of you fighting for us, often all by yourself, (your incredible voting record speaks to this truth) is what keeps me plugging away. You are an inspiration the likes of which I have yet to encounter in any other way and please know how very deeply you as well as your efforts are appreciated! You probably don't remember it but one of the few precious times I have had personal contact with you, I was gushing in a meeting about your voting record and I mentioned the exact date/time I discovered you....a date and time I will never forget. When I was done speaking, you looked right at me and with your kind, gentle smile said, "You didn't just discover me, we discovered each other". I will never stop cherishing those words. Thank you for who you are, for what you stand for, for all you've done, and for your presence in my life that keeps me going no matter how down I get. Yes, Dr Paul, I truly love you.

End the Fed!

If we end the Fed, we can put an end to the corrupt police actions the US is engaged in right now. We must not let the government send more troops over seas!

Dr. Paul.

You're my hero.

And as anyone here can tell you.....I don't use upper case letters in my writings here. It's takes too long to press the shift key! :)

So far from the rest of those I've witnessed in my lifetime, however short indeed, you fly unscathed.

I, like those in this great movement that may last longer than anyone knows, will forever be in your debt.

You...a man a share no religion with.....have brought me to my knees.
I do not know what I am....other than a man who no longer ignores the beating of his own heart. I've known many things since I was a little boy that have come true....or that are still true to me.

Thank you so much!

Dear Dr. Paul, please ignore the disagreement below---

This thread was started to post our comments to you, and we know you will accept the First Daily Paul Peace Award and recognize the spirit in which it was given.
I know you will also be able to overlook our spirited discussion, knowing we are just asserting our 1st Amendment Right to free speech! Squabbles are not uncommon on Daily Paul----but we sometimes learn important truths because of our 'discussions' and the tendency to "think outside the box".
As many of the posts say below, we have been inspired to become better people because you have educated us. You have made a commitment to the REVOLution and have given us the tools to go forward in Freedom and Liberty.

Great post, thanks

I love the graphics of a tree, representing all plants and other living creatures, including us humans, spreading in all directions into the vast expanse of HEAVEN and EARTH.

It gives me a little joy of seeing the pulsating, living universe in our liberty movement.

Freedom to express such individual creativity certainly is one of the main reasons we are in this battle for liberty. No? -y

I personally love it! It is a very sweet and loving thing to do. I wish I could quilt like that! I love the design.
I love God too, and the post below mine is very silly:

The symbol is offensive. Why should Christians rally around a symbol which looks almost exactly like a friggin menorah?
the true symbol of peace is the CROSS , drop the menorah

A tree, my trollish like friend, represents much more than your own biased first opinion...Let's leave the judging up to God. Should we all together just stop drawing anything other than the cross then? What better wat to represent truth peace and freedom, than by referring to what the cross itself was made from. Tress are ALL over the Bible. Zacheauss got to see Jesus because of one, and Jesus showed everyone what "being equal" really was about at that moment, when he went to his house that day. He made the tree on one of his first few days of creation. It is the strongest thing I know of to refer to! Your tree of liberty desperately needs some water..But I'll be waiting to see your perfect quilt. Thank you again Mrs. Quilting!

Dr. Paul

the Nobel Peace Prize was logically yours. You were robbed as we all have been in so many ways. But they can't take this away from you, just as they cannot take away our spirit. We know what is right, and we will keep working for it. Your leadership is pricelessly instructional for all of us. We appreciate you more than words can express.

(Secede)

Dr. Paul

all of us at the Daily Paul would like you to accept this award of Peace.
we know that you are truly deserving of this award.

and all of us here at the Daily Paul wish to thank 'quiltingsando' for a most
beautiful pillow and the most beautiful idea.

Ron Paul is My President

Ron Paul is My President

Thank you quiltsando, thoughtful of you

and so well made.
Dr. Paul, thank you for sticking to your convictions all these years, and voting with the Constitution, and for your brave stance in standing up to the Federal Reserve. Thank you for caring for the American people over yourself. I want you to know that I have prayed for your revolution, for your safety, and the safety of your family EVERY day for the last 2 years, and will continue to do so.

Thank You Dr. Paul

I am so grateful to have heard your message at such an important time in my life. I first became very interested in your message of liberty when I began my college education last year. I saw you in St. Louis at the Campaign for Liberty conference and I took your message to heart, that young people can help the movement by actively educating themselves. Every day since then I've done something to increase my knowledge of constitutional government, Austrian economic theory, the Fed, foreign policy, and everything liberty related. Now I am beginning a Young Americans for Liberty chapter at University of Illinois at Springfield. I know it will be difficult but the r(3vol)ution's message is too important to be absent here. And, I will always have fun doing it!

Thanks again!

If we don't change our direction, we're likely to end up where we are headed.

If we don't change our direction, we're likely to end up where we are headed.

None better to hold a piece of award.

I'm 22 years old and you possess an ability that every history professor i ever had wished that they held. Every time you speak about politics and the constitution, I am hung up on your every word. Thank you Dr. Paul for fighting for my rights long before i was ever born even though you had nothing to gain for yourself. Your courage and commitment has shown me what a true hero can be like in this day and age. If you do end up reading this, i just want you to know that because you have inspired me, long after you are gone i will continue to fight for the same small government, individual liberty causes that you believe in for the rest of my life. I will even raise my children with this new knowledge that you gave to me. Count one more in your corner.

Thank You, Dr Paul.

what a lovely idea . . .

it's hard to be awake; it's easier to dream--

how could it possibly be grandstanding--

I think it's kind and a beautiful gesture for a good man--

it's hard to be awake; it's easier to dream--

Dr. Paul was absolutely the correct choice for the Peace Prize.

Because his true freedom message IS one of peace.

But sadly I don't think he was even considered.

The Nobel prizes have become a farce.

"We have allowed our nation to be over-taxed, over-regulated, and overrun by bureaucrats. The founders would be ashamed of us for what we are putting up with."
-Ron Paul

It IS about the man this time.

Dr. Paul often says: "it's not about the man, it's about the message". But where would we be without this man delivering the message of liberty, so eloquently to so many?

Thank you, Dr. Paul, for your dedication to freedom and the Constitution, and the inspiration we now share. And thank you, Michael Nystrom, for bringing us all together at the DP.

Peace,
Jim and Tina Summers

When hero's are very non existent today. Since knowing you, I am a better person. You have shown me and my family what freedom truly is, what the founders of our country truly said. You have taught us what The Constitution, the Deceleration of Independence, and the Bill of Rights really mean. You have shown us what it means that "freedom isn't free" and now the work ahead of us to restore our freedoms.

I thank you for your tireless and compassionate work for 30 years in teaching and working for freedom and peace in our world that is so torn by war and violence. Standing alone! Thank you for your dedication until I could find you!!

I find that I am also not alone in my fight for the truth and making the world a more peaceful, equitable world. Thank you for showing me what a "true statesmen" is. You are the walking talking example of honesty, humbleness of spirit, truth, love, peace and equality and unwavering courage for all people. You are a light bearer in a dark world.

I am truly honored to know you, to have met you and talked with you. We are both Leo's, rulers of the Sun and bringers of Light!! Our birthdays are only 2 days apart!!

God Bless you and keep you and your family safe
Thank you eternally for having such a huge impact on my life and waking me and my brothers and sisters up!!!

.....and quiltingsando, You are modern day Betsy Ross, the design is just perfect. Thanks for your tireless efforts and love.

.....Thanks Michael for giving us a forum and a place for the Revolution.
Thank you for working endlessly for peace and freedom.

It is such a nice miracle to find others to help us grow and look up to and aspire to new heights of our evolution. What a Blessing!!

LONG LIVE THE REPUBLIC!

to Dr. Paul for his message of freedom
to Michael for his efforts in passing that message to others
and to quiltingsando for sharing her personal touch with others

Peace award?

I don't like to rain on your parade guys, Daily Paul is my favorite website, but isn't a wee bit presumptuous and strangely ridiculous of a blogsite to hand out peace prizes?

A Ron Paul Peace Prize blessed by the good doctor himself - now that would be an entirely different matter and a respectable and noble thing to do. But for a website with blogs and youtube videos, maybe it's a bit too ambicious.

We the people

occupy the highest office in the land, that of AMERICAN CITIZEN. Anyone here has the authority to pay respect and homage to those they want to pay respect to. Including each other. Dr. Paul is not different than you or me, nor should we idolize him. We honor him just like we honor each other. And thank him for the common sen he's illuminated for us, and what he's done for liberty. (it may just have been a typo but ambitious is spelled without a c).

This is an award

from THE PEOPLE, by THE PEOPLE for a man who SPEAKS FOR THE PEOPLE.

Prepare & Share the Message of Freedom through Positive-Peaceful-Activism.

This is an acknowlegement from the grass roots up,

not the bureaucracy down.
"Here, read this information and watch this vedio, and decipher the truth for yourself." Is the shout out from the millions of bloggers.

Self investigation of truth is the embodyment of freedom.

Dr. Paul is deserving imitation because of excellence, as he stands boldly in the path of the super preditor beast blind rhino.

24/7 live vedios from around the world are shared within minutes.

The very essence of the internet is to bring into view truths and embolden like minded persons.

Every time the Ron Paul Peace Prize will be awarded, it represents not only the recepient, but acknowledges the millions of readers and writers and the fund raising capabilites of the internet. Therefore, very appropriate that this prize was initiated by the peoples of the world.

And never forget, “Humans, despite our artistic pretensions, our sophistication and many accomplishments, owe the fact of our existence to a six-inch layer of topsoil and the fact that it rains.”

Can you imagine giving the second year prize to anyone but MN?

And for our third year, QS.

Who do you suppose for year four?

Granger, you are at the top of my list.

Michael, quiltingsand, of course.
You, Granger, enter conversations with wisdom from your personal experiences, which are vast. You're entire life has been dedicated to libery and freedom. I can tell from your writings.
All the time, you chime in with clarity in areas that are "cloudy water", issues that are perplexing to most persons, simply because you have been awakend for so many years.
I've seen you being attacked so heavy, and you were so right, but with patience, you speak up, and come from outside the box, calming the perplexities of the main stream propaganda.

You are truly a free thinker, with observations embedded in personal experience.

What do you think about this woman and her idea, Granger?

And you would be at the top of my list, for much the same reasons as you awarded myself, however, I would give you the award for being a "Warrior For Peace", because you certainly are good at putting up your dukes when it comes to defending the fringe. I love you for it.

The link you provided for Shelly's vid, reads an error, and that's twice now. I was unable to see it. By reading the information on the page, I assume the vid is about food, and localization. You know, I believe you understand far better than most here where I live, where localization has been going on for some time and is main stream for us, we have several kinds of "Mendo money" already circulating. I believe Shelly's activism here on DP would be up for a reward way before me.

I saw the chili cookoff joke and it's a good one. Thank you for that.

Shelly brings up a point of "slow" money.

Yes, in the communities here in California, we set trends in locally grown foods, but already too many farms have been paved over.
I would like to see hemp grown massively here for a few years, to bring back nutritionally dense soil on the corporate farms.
Which brings me to your other vedio and first word crossed my lips was FEMA/Papillon . . . very graphic, yet well styled ved, and of course, the movie won all. Lets talk more on this later.

Granger, I would like to travel up there. Always thought that area was spartan and peaceful, with bold scenery.
Which brings me to Alice,
"Exact-ally" said the catepellar. Colorful and symbolic Granger. Thanks.
I enjoy your foriegn vedios also.

You are really an intriging person, and use and "coin" words attractively and with fresh insights, always leaves me feeling enriched.
