If NH is RPs best chance of winning then SC is 2nd

I live in South Carolina and we have an open election. Meaning republicans and democrats can both vote in the republican primary and vise versa. We all know how much democrats agree with Ron Paul so if anyone out there know any SC democrats get through to them and let them know they can vote for Ron Paul! tell them they can still vote in the democratic primary even if they did vote in the republican one. I've talked to 4 of my friends who are registered democrats and they will be voting for Dr. Paul in Jan.

Mark Sanford...

Has the governor of SC endorsed Ron Paul...? Ron Paul was almost like a mentor to him, reportedly, while he was a young man in Congress with Paul.

Nevada...

and South Carolina have their primaries on the same day. Both these states show strong support for Ron Paul.

WRONG! What about MICHIGAN?

No Michigan is RP's best chance. RP is not aware that the Michigan primary is back on for Jan 15th according to statements made the other day. I wrote the campaign to remind them that we need RP back in Michigan. Michigan would vote for RP for many reasons. This needs to get attention.

Also, the Dems look like they are not competing

because of the controversey. So maybe some disgruntled Dems will vote for RP (is the primary still open ?)

Yes primary is still open

Last day to register to vote in the primaries is Dec 17th. Primary is Jan 15th. I'm told the Campaign has just focused on the East half of Michigan which is largely Detroit's population and Domocrat while the West is much different and more Republican. I live in the middle but lived three years in Grand Rapids. There is very little activity for RP in the West from what I gather. We have only around 200 people in our meetup group and only a small amount come out. I go an hour just to do something. But my point is that Michigan people are ripe for RP's message if they only hear it. When the word gets out a high percentage of Michigan people will like it. So it does not make sense for there to be so little focus on MI.

During the Rally here a few

During the Rally here a few weeks ago there were about 2000 people that evening, another 2000 at the early Rally at the College of Charleston and many were democrats or people that had not voted in over a decade. I think there are a lot more people that are actually going to vote for Dr. Paul than any of the polls reveal. I have numerous friends who have been dyed-n-the-wool democrats for years and always said they would never vote republican, but in this election they are all switching to RON PAUL!!!!

wow

that's alot more votes! I'm surprised that the parties lets the other party vote for their nominee.

I love ron paul!

South Carolina

South Carolina's open primary dates back to when it was a solidly Democratic state. As the GOP made inroads, in the 1950's and 1960's, many South Carolinians would vote Democrat locally and Republican nationally. With a closed primary, there would not have been much of a turnout for the Republicans forty years ago. When you consider that many elections are decided in the primary, I would much prefer to have a more open primary system. In New York, I have to change my party registration to vote for (or against) a particular candidate. And the deadline for switching is long past.
