I know..... you were looking for the SAME THREAD that has been on the DP for the past 48 hours.
Well it was "disappeared" 5 minutes ago folks!

It happened right after my post and Granger's follow-up.
Granger if you're still live online.... please acknowledge what I'm saying here.

Then we will both post to this thread and tell what happened.

Johnson's Seven Principles for Good Government

was originally heard at the Rally for the Republic
in Minn. / or if you have the DVD you can hear him present them ....
(evidently he has used and brought up these points many times before)
it starts at the 4:20 mark .... if you want to hear it
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qcu8jWD2Qs0

(he didn't mention Kissinger name at the Rally though - good thing perhaps)

Gary Johnson would make a great choice for a Presidential candidate!

Will be interesting to find out who all will run in 2012 .....
he could sure have a solid administration to put together made up of those
from the Liberty movement ..... GJ 2012 .... sounds good!

Gary Johnson seems to have a solid conservative record

Gary was one of the speakers at Ron Paul's Rally for the Republic.

Most of us who heard him speak were quite impressed. At the time, I did a little research and the Gary seems to not only talks the conservative talk, but he walks the conservative walk.

He is definately worth looking into.

he is more of a liberal

he is more of a liberal Republican IMO, who happens to be anti-war and anti-drug war while being a fiscal conservative. I dont think he is a limited government proponent, though, based on this ontheissues.org profile.

Ventura 2012

examples?

From the onissues site it doesn't appear that there is much info. Most of the stances they put him on are from the governor's conferences where he voted for various Republican sponsored non-binding agreements asking for the federal government to allow the governors to make decisions as opposed to DC.

I can only find Johnson liberal on social issues.

Here is what Kissinger said:

6. Don’t hesitate to deliver bad news. There is always time to salvage things. There is always time to fix things. Henry Kissinger said that anything that can be revealed eventually should be revealed immediately.

I personally would never use Kissinger's name on an important first contact like Johnson did. That was stupid. But Kissinger is right, things that should be revealed should be revealed immediately. Soooooo, Kissinger is right, but I would just steal the idea and leave Kissinger's name out of it.

I completely agree

and I think it's "exciting" to find "another RP" in the GOP. Too bad he wasn't there for RP as a VP candidate.

VP candidate?

"Too bad he wasn't there for RP as a VP candidate."

What do you mean? When was RP calling for VP candidates?

As far as I know, Gary Johnson was the only governor to endorse Ron Paul.

He's a member of the Libertarian Party, I've seen him give a speech at the Libertarian Party National Convention (the same convention Ron Paul was attending at the time).

Ron Paul chose him to speak at his convention for a reason. Johnson had brought up a presidential run even back then.

Perhaps I might have said

Too bad I didn't have a RON PAUL GARY JOHNSON 08 bumper sticker. How cool would THAT be? Got one for me?

Gary Johnson 2012

You can find the quote on the front page at http://www.garyjohnson2012.com

"6. Don’t hesitate to deliver bad news. There is always time to salvage things. There is always time to fix things. Henry Kissinger said that anything that can be revealed eventually should be revealed immediately."

It's a common quote...just because it comes from someone like Kissinger doesn't mean it's not true.

I think it's a good strategy...get the dirt out there before your critics can get it out there.

He's far from a NWO, Bilderberg type. He's a libertarian to the core.

www.garyjohnson2012.com

Wait

What is the strategy-what dirt? That you might quote Kissinger???? Gees, if that is the worst thing about Johnson, he has it made. I'm sure they can find something worse.

I agree

I agree, I was just clarifying the fuss of the comments below.

Frankly I've seen everything you can think of to discredit Johnson in the past year or so. None of which have to do with his principles as someone who would run the presidency as a fiscal conservative. Some people don't like how much he runs, some don't like his view of leaving abortion laws to the states, some are against the fact that he didn't support the Iraq war. And now they throw out a quote about Kissinger.

None of those things erase the fact that while he was governor of New Mexico (a state dominated 2 to 1 by Democrats) he cut taxes 14 times, he vetoed over 750 bills and he takes the fiscally conservative approach to dealing with marijuana users of treating it as medical as opposed to criminal.

I think GJ2012 will see many threads here on DP goldenequity

I would suggest to GJ2012, that Kissinger is not someone you want to make a top quote.

Kissinger is NEOCON POWER.

I think JG2012 is going to keep the GOP flush in money like RP did, but he is not a RP, who I can't imagine quoting from Kissinger, of all people.

Kissinger is the opposite of RP.

GJ2012 has deleated the quote from all web sites.. all that's left is a Goole search remnant

down below

.

oh, barf!

"6. Don’t hesitate to deliver bad news. There is always time to salvage things. There is always time to fix things. Henry Kissinger said that anything that can be revealed eventually should be revealed immediately. "

the quote is good, but for johnson to give merit to the author, is clearly a demonstration that he does not know American history.

ok... I get it (a little)

Tajitj....
I think I'm getting it.
You were the original poster.
You alone had the ability (except for the moderator(s)) to
kill the thread.
You killed it as soon as you saw mine and Granger's posts.
You posted originally because you were excited (and so passively endorsing)
Gary's 2012 announcement.

Then we posted.

Then you had slight misgivings (or at least a gnawing feeling in your gut) about your "endorsement" by virtue of creating the original thread.

So your post below basically calls the deletion (or thread creation) a "mistake"... and you are now telling people to go to the original "link" and "decide for themselves."

Is that about right?
Please tell the truth. Thanks.
G.

??? Ok here goes

I posted the original "Breaking Gary Johnson laying groundwork for 2012 bid" or something to that effect

I wrote a blog entry this morning covering that story and another interview the Gary where he confims this new 527

I then copy and pasted it here in place of that original thread. What I forgot to take out was where I say:

"This is huge inspiring news. When I started this little blog I had no idea Gary would so quickly be putting something together. He could have just faded away into history as a great Gov of New Mexico and a pipe dream of mine and alot of other supporters. But it seems Gary Johnson will not set back and watch his country fall. He sees he can help change it, through his leadership and with the grassroots energy, this could be the start of people taking back their country that has been hijacked by special interests that have control with our Representatives, our money and our freedom."

That was on the thread, from looking back it looks as if I am talking about DailyPaul not my GaryJohnson2012.blogspot.com blog.

I am guessing Micheal deleted it for that reason. Now I am apparently flagged and reposted the general info but it has to be checked by mods before it get posted.

Either way to see the news go here
http://garyjohnson2012.blogspot.com/

Oh, now the story gets bigger!!!!

You mean YOU didn't delete your own thread??? This is not good. Surely it would not be deleted just because it looks like you might be saying people here are not proactive enough. Surely not. So why was it deleted. Perhaps because of what your posters said beneath you? But I see no reason for that??? Just more overactive deletions I guess.

So what the heck did u say

that caused her to remove her thread?

Is Johnson a Republican for sure? Or and Independent?

nuthin else....

the below is the entire story. I made just the one post... then TheGranger post... then the thread deletion. That's it.

Oh, ok, your post below

was not up when I questioned what you said. Now I think I am up to date.

My question is, does quoting Henry Kissinger necessarily mean that Johnson looks up to him. Perhaps Kissinger just happened to say exactly what Johnson was trying to say. I agree with Kissinger's quote. Does that mean I should ban myself from Daily Paul??

The better question to ask would be why Kissinger even said that. He is very hypocritical. (something like anything that needs to be revealed eventually should be revealed)

Would you make a top quote of someone you didn't like?

Hi I'm Gary Johnson and here's my Kissinger quote... is no way to win antiwar supporters. Good for gary he knopws that and now the quote is gone. So who will remember? Who will care?

NO, as I said, I wouldn't.

But I am not going to totally condemn Johnson yet. BUT, I will not vote for the guy either if I think he is a friend of Kissinger. I hate Kissinger with a passion. And I appreciate this quote being called to our attention. Definitely puts Johnson on a "to be watched" list. It was a very, very stupid thing for him to do, if he did it. If he didn't do it, he should have been more careful about what someone is writing for him.

ditto...

you're welcome.
.... and precisely WHY I created this thread.... precisely. :)

edit

...

I think it was my fault

I reposted a blog entry put on my site, and my little commentary at end could make it could like I was talking about this site endorsing him.

Either way i am going to leave it alone, I dont want to confuse anyone about that.

Anyway go hear to read about the news that just came out.
http://garyjohnson2012.blogspot.com/2009/10/our-america-pac-...

My story

some of you are going like WTF????
sorry about that.... Tajitj and Granger are both offline for now so I will tell my side of the story. You can do some homework yourself.

Go to the GJ2012 website here: http://johnsonforamerica.com/
Go to: Meet Gary Johnson tab
Go to: GARY JOHNSON'S SEVEN PRINCIPLES
OF GOOD GOVERNMENT graphic.
Go to: #6 and read it.

(seriously)
I got ALL excited about GJ2012 and posted his logo graphic, links and "announcement" to a blog/forum I have been investing my efforts into for over a year now... since TARP began September 2008. It's a Trucker forum and a good place to "influence" opinions.... they travel and talk a lot.

It's predominantly conservative and hence a big neocon battlefield. I have persisted and developed some respect for my blog/thread in the political forum section.

So I posted my GJ2012 pitch with a "go check it out for yourself" invitation.

My first response came 30 minutes after my GJ2012 post:
I have to admit, it's a catchy slogan; it's surely the attitude we, as Americans need to have instilled into us all over again, it seems that most have forgotten what had been essential in making our way of life what it is.
The same poster 10 minutes later posted this:
Nevermind -- He looks up to Kissinger. Don't want nothin' to do with 'em.

I related/posted the above story to the DP/Tajitj thread.... minutes later,

TheGranger then posted this response to my post (or something like it) to the same DP thread:
That was a HUGE red flag for me too. I want no part in electing another potential GOP gatekeeper to advance the duopoly

The original thread was suddenly deleted within a minute or two.

My summary of all this....
I could only assume Tajitj got embarrassed and killed the thread.

I KNOW how she felt... exactly. I decided to publicly apologize on my blog also.... that was hard.... because you know... I'm constantly endorsing the principles of Liberty and relentlessly slamming the GOP, CFR and NWO with every post.

Of all the people, Founders, leaders in the World you could pick from to quote..... why the HELL would you pick THAT guy????
On your 2012 announcement?
In your "ready to be published" BOOK?
Jesus!!!!! ..... a tactical blunder at the very least.
