We look to enlighten the population about civil liberties, free enterprise, limited government, and traditional American values. It is our aim to increase the amount of discussion and involvement regarding all-important issues.
We now have another former elected official out there fighting for some of the things we stand for. Remember, he endorsed Ron Paul in 2008 and refused to endorse GW Bush in 2004 because of his Iraq war.
By the way he can't even mention a single thing about running for President in 2012 because of the way the laws are written for 527's. I don't see him conflicting with a possible Ron Paul run in 2012, if anything his organization can be of benefit.
Also it was first being said this was going to be a 527, but it is a 501 (c)(4). A legal clarification.

My question for Johnson is one Roe v Wade.
I don't care if he is pro-life or pro-choice...what I want is an acknowledgement that Roe was a horribly unconstitutional decision and that he (of course) would nominate judges that are strict constructionists and therefore would overturn Roe.

Having a former Republican Gov out there who was against Iraq and now Afghan, is something that might help us change a fews minds. Not sure of what will come of this but hope he gets some media for it.

pretty good. He seemed dull on some issues but came off very well on most others. He makes Ron Paul look like Cato when it comes to rhetoric and use of language, but I'll take it.
It is too bad that he seems to feel strongly about abortion. That could very well be strike three when it comes to getting the average Republican's vote, after strike 1(anti-War) and strike 2(anti-drug war).

You guys have to watch those videos. Not quite my taste, but I get what they are trying to do. I would rather them have released an hour long interview where Gary just speaks his mind on these issues instead of what they did. From what I hear a public relations type firm was created with the 527.

Ugh...I hate it. It feels very phony. It feels like a Neo-Con who is trying to appear cool in front of the grassroots.
He needs to utilize his grassroots supporters and go from there...
There aren't enough
I have been floating this new 527 he started but it seems to be meet with hostility and anger by Ron Paul supporters. They have a fear both men will run in 2012 and split the vote and all this kind of political insider stuff. I can take some blame starting a little blog titled Gary Johnson for President 2012, but I am seeing some mainstream conservative types are more open to Gary than Paul, why I dont know. My guess is they are seeing the light on some issues, but know they can't say "Ron Paul Was Right" because they did so much to destroy and ignore him during the campaign. By them painting Gary in a good light they can get on the correct side of a few issues and never have to admit they screwed up by not giving Paul a fair shake. So I see an opportunity to use a potential Gary Johnson campaign in 2012 to build hype for a libertarian style Ron Paul candidate.
To me "Our America" is nothing more than Gary testing the waters to see if he can help further the movement in his own way. I see us having a good fundraising organization set up for the eventual liberty candidate in 2012, whether it is Paul again or someone else. The average Paul supporter is not going to somehow drop Paul and go for Johnson if Ron Paul runs, me included.
I don't like posting alot of threads here or at the forums because I dont want to look like a spammer as the hardcore Barr and Baldwin supporters did.
So why not spread the message about his 527 and support it like we do other organizations. The more former Governors talking about our issues the better.
As for the videos, why not get 20 actual people in that audience and use cuts of him actually talking about issues with them. I am no production manager or have any film background but I'd say they need work.
He does do a good interview, I have watched him on C-Span sit down for an hour and talk with host, so I think this was nothing more than a first attempt at youtube making.

Nice! We really need to encourage Johnson to run, at least as long as RP is not planning on running. Or perhaps an RP / Johnson ticket. But even on his own, Johnson is potentially so many orders of magnitude better than any other realistic GOP candidate, that he really should be able to count on our support.
