Nor shall any employee be requested, directed or permitted to canvass for or against any candidate or render any other services for or against any candidate or group of candidates, during any of the hours within which the salary of said employee as an employee is being paid or agreed to be paid; nor shall any such employee be allowed any vacation or leave of absence at the expense of the employer to render any service or services for or against any candidate or group of candidates, or to take any active part in any election campaign whatsoever; nor shall any employee at the expense, in whole or in part, of any employer take any part whatever in any election campaign, except the necessary time to cast his vote.
You can take vacation time to vote, but nothing else.
The motivation behind the law seems to assume that no employee would voluntarily take his own vacation time to volunteer for a campaign, and that such an action must be "coerced" by an employer.
How would they enforce that law?
Another law impossible to enforce.
That's a rotten law
So they're saying the employer has complete control of your actions even while on vacation. Since they are paying for your vacation time, they think you're still on company time. As for leave of absence without pay, you're still under their control because you are concidered still employed. So what are we supposed to do on vacation, just sit at home on our arses? WTF! I wish I was self employed and I could do whatever I want with my time.
