Who reads that, and still gives it to their child? Do parents think at ALL any more? Want to cure that "attention deficit?" Throw out the damn TV! NO suicidal side effects from that therapy.

I believe you and I have had
a discussion in the past about medicating kids. In my personal (knowing kids that supposedly have ADHD) and professional opinion I think you are right. But I'll go further. Parents need to stop feeding their children garbage, and pay more attention (yes, actually be a parent to the child!) Also, there is growing evidence that some of these "ADHD" children actually have autism which would be contributed to vaccination. I don't know how many people wanted a quick fix for their kids when they came to see me. God forbid we actually parent our children and take care of them (nutritious foods, discipline, love and attention) Let's medicate them because "I can't handle them" or "I'm too busy to deal with...." I know I heard it all. Very sad. A friend of our family has a daughter with ADHD. She eats pre-packaged meals, drinks mountain dew all the time, eats candy like it's going away forever and is on the ADHD patch. When I spoke to her father (mom is hardly involved - too busy working and when she gets home, drinks a bottle of wine by herself) I told him of the danger of the patch. He balked at me (his best friend is an M.D. and recommended this patch) and said she is doing well. A few days later his daughter was taking a shower and screamed for her father. When he went to check on her she was hysterical reporting she couldn't see. He said her eyes were completely crossed. He still has her on the patch, her diet's the same, nothing has changed. This girl is underweight (that's what the meds do) and under normal height (she is now 10 and the size and weight of my petite 6 year old) I'm disgusted - seriously, this is child abuse in my eyes - what do you do though?

I could not agree more. I get disgusted when I see CPS coming and raiding homes... I want to go have a look in the fridge at THEIR house...
Proper diet, adequate sleep, and daily fresh air and exercise will cure damn near everything they want us to take a pill for!
And with kids, when the answer is not "let kids be kids" it is "will the parents please parent!"
Truth exists, and it deserves to be cherished.
To think this is our
future! :( These children will have a higher rate of addictions than other children. These drugs are kiddy cocaine - ah, yes - I know some in the medical field will say these kids do not exhibit hyperactivity when on these drugs(that is, of course, how you know they have ADHD) You can tell when the meds wear off because the kids are bouncing off the walls. I was never an addiction specialist, but it sounds to me that they need another fix to calm them down - just like a drug addict. Am I right?
