The L.A. Times writes: The man's got a following, that's for sure.
Tuesday it was announced that Texas Republican Ron Paul, who wowed the Libertarian crowd during the 2008 election with his call for limited government, is set to deliver an address at the University of South Carolina on Nov. 9 about the “future of individual liberty and the importance of the U.S. Constitution.”
As if that were not enough, the following week he's scheduled to speak in Iowa, that pivotal early caucus state, with stops in Ames and Des Moines.
By this morning speculation was rife that South Carolina, which holds one of the early primaries in the presidential calendar, could be the launching pad for a new Ron Paul bid. As CNN's Political Ticker put it, "Will Ron Paul give it another go in 2012?"

If he is a serious candidate, he should run. If he's not I hope he supports someone else.
Serious means he campaigns early and resigns from the House. Last time he tried to run for the Presidency and the House while still serving in Congress. There's no way he can do all of that and be a serious candidate.
He has said he's not running, so I'll take his word. There's nothing wrong with testing the waters however.

You can't ignore Ron Paul
You can't ignore Ron Paul right now the way it is. He's on TV every few days. The momentum from the campaign is still there and it's like we never quit. I can't even imagine how big it would get the next go-around if he would run. $10 million moneybomb in the first week he declared I guarantee if he would run.

This sounds like an unlikely longshot
and I'm not sure people would want two family members after what we have been through.

That's the conclusion I keep coming to.
And how great would that be, seriously! It would completely destroy any argument about Ron's age, which is about all the opposition has on him now. Should something happen to him you've got as close to a clone as possible with Rand. There's also the novelty of being the first father and son duo. The prospect of 12-16 years of Pauls in charge is an amazing thought. Imagine what we could get done in that time. But first things first, get Rand into the Senate!

Everyone move to New Hampshire.
Then if it doesn't work, we'll have clout to secede.
If we can get Rand elected to Senate, and if Peter Schiff, and Kokach, and all the other Ron Paul candidates can build decent followings, along with the continuous growth of the Campaign for Liberty. We'll have a huge organization for 2012.

Wow, if I think Ron Paul takes up my life completely which it does now, I can't even comprehend what my life will be like if he runs in 2012. This time it won't take me until a few months before the primaries before I start campaigning for him.

perhaps he could win. And, no I don't really like Palin, but politically, it's the best maneuver to pair up with somebody wildly popular like those two.

Governor Ventura

You seem to be unaware of
You seem to be unaware of Ventura's "liberty cred" as your time here may corroborate. Not knocking you, just noticing because a Paul/Ventura ticket, for some here, is not so completely out of the question. All the same I agree with you both ventura and palin would be terrible.
To me Ventura is just raw emotion with not much tact or knowledge of history and economics. A cabinet level position or some kind of attack dog position (besides VP) may be more appropriate for him, but not president or next in line to it.
Palin, shudder. Even for the sake of political expediency, it's still not worth it. The thought of her anywhere near the presidency kept me up at night back in 08. Just hearing her name makes me cringe and when in the same sentence as Ron Paul makes me want to vomit. Blehhh!

I like Ventura, but he's a
I like Ventura, but he's a 9/11 truther - a crack pot, a foil hat wearing gun toter with bad hair. We all know that's not true, but the media will make him out that way even worse than they did with Paul.
The next best person would be the Judge Nepolitano. I'm sure I spelled his name wrong, but he has a lot more media-integrity considering he's on Fox news, he's one of them and they probably won't go after their own kind.
