Here’s a shocker: an online poll at www.ronpaul.com that asks if Texas Republican Rep. Ron Paul should run for president again in 2012 shows an overwhelming majority believe he should.

Some 93% of the nearly 3,000 voters said he should run in 2012, while 3% said he shouldn’t and 1% said they don’t know. Online polls are unscientific and it’s no surprise that visitors to a grassroots Web site in support of the Texas Republican’s political agenda favor him running again.

Paul scored few votes in 2008, but his bid made him a household name and his warnings about the state of the U.S. economy have proved prescient at times.

If Paul were to run, he would turn 77 in August 2012—five years older than Arizona GOP Sen. John McCain was in the 2008 campaign where his age was an issue.

But Paul may be considering it. He will speak Nov. 9 in South Carolina (a key primary state) at an event to discuss the “future of individual liberty and the importance of the U.S. Constitution.” And the following week he will travel to Iowa for appearances in Ames and Des Moines.

Ron should run...

even if he has no chance of winning. By running in 2008 Ron attracted tons of support...I think another run will get him even more support. It's Dr. Paul's ideas that we need to spread and no one does it better than the man himself.

RP=2012!

If he decides to do it, I hope his heart will really be in it.

Since he has been able to see some of the fruits of his labor with growth/interest in the movement, maybe that will inspire him and give him the determination that he seemed to lack last time.

I know he regrets spending too much time in Washington instead of campaigning all across Iowa as Fred Thompson did having a campaign bus going from town to town and getting 3rd place compared to Ron's 5th.

who believes that he can do more outside of the presidency. The Commander in Chief of the single most powerful combat force on Earth also appoints some 1,000 of the nations most influential positions.

The Presidency is so powerful it can be used to kill itself. One simple presidential directive could void all past and future directives, the 37 czars, or have silver certificates issued to help absorb some of the massive inflation we have caused (J.F.K. did this though so I fear for RP's safety).

I think he could do much more as president
