912 Group Member: "I feel cheated that I was led to believe Ron Paul was a kook during the campaign."
This was the comment of an Orange County 9/12 Project group member after watching the Ron Paul grassroots documentary For Liberty How the Ron Paul Revolution Watered the Withered Tree of Liberty at its West Coast Premier.
It changed my mind about Ron Paul - I feel cheated that I was led to believe he was a kook during the campaign. Republicans should stand up and take notice of how he was able to rally people under 40. I look at the monthly agenda of the Orange County Republican Party and just have to shake my head at the luncheons and library meetings. I came out of last year's election cycle wanting to be more involved and to just do something, so I joined the Tea Party movement. Now I wish I had taken a second look at Ron Paul's campaign. But Fox News totally marginalized him and I bought into it. Can we still make a difference in this government? I hope so....I am no longer going to take any media at face value, not even Fox News, which I am a big fan of, and I am not going to toe the Party line. Maybe I am a Libertarian or am I just an American?
Read more opinions on the film from 9/12 Project members at the Orange County 9/12 Project Meetup page, on the right hand side of the site. People are now recognizing that they have been scammed by both the GOP and media, and this film has the power to show them how.
Another example:
"We were surprised that Hannity and Glenn Beck were critical of Ron Paul since they both claim to be Libertarians."
Ha ha ha. Read them all. People are waking up. By sharing our experience of the Ron Paul Revolution, this film is a tremendous teaching tool. Have you seen it yet? Get a copy and watch it with your neocon friends. Organize a local showing.
If you're looking for a documentary that is both informative and empowering, this is it.

People need to take responsibility for themselves.
It is not like there weren't enough people screaming that the msm doesn't tell the truth. Signs everywhere. Dr. Paul on debates. Sure people were duped, if they allowed it.
Too bad you missed it...
It was one great ride from start to finish (The Rally for the Republic in Minneapolis-which was the birth of the Campaign for Liberty).
But be advised that a lot of the 9/12 bunch don't REALLY get it anyway.
It seems to me that the majority are rank Republicans of the type who consider Ron Paul supporters to be nutbags.
And many of whom supported McCain and used Nazi-like tactics on the Ron Paul Delegates to the Republican National Convention going on in St.Paul--just a few miles across town from the Dr. Paul's Rally at the Target Center.
Their main disagreement from regular Republicans is on foreign policy, but Dr. Paul is absolutely correct on this issue and if you can't understand that then you are no Ron Paul supporter.
But it's not too late to become enlightened and spread the word of this site and the Freedom message.
Welcome!

I always find it interesting....
to look at the difference between a picture of a Ron Paul gathering..... and a 9/12 or Townhall meeting. The Ron Paul "group" looks YOUNG and VIBRANT and ALIVE. The 9/12 and Townhall groups always seem to be a sea of arthritic, overweight, grey headed people.. Now there is nothing wrong with grey hair (GOSH, I HOPE not!)..... but what I'm saying is that there is a changeover happening. From the old to the young... from the old Party leadership to a new group.
THIS ALSO can cause fear and distrust in those who have been around a while and have (in their minds) been the movers and shakers of their party. If one is already feeling vulnerable to age and mortality, then ANY "whacky" behavior by the new bunch can easily turn one off. Young people do things in different ways, and change is always scary.
I guess I'm just saying that we have to remember to TALK TO OUR AUDIENCE in terms (and appearances) that they will accept. Loud modern music blaring, megaphones screaming in one's face, and scruffy, "scary" looking people cannot get through to the Geritol crowd. Just something to think about if we want to increase our numbers......

"We" gave them the ammunition to marginalize Ron Paul
We did it.
Sure, they ran with it. They plastered up the fringiest of fringe images to associate with Ron Paul. They're guilty of portraying him in a false light by associating him with the 9/11 truthers, etc.
But we LET them do it because we don't take responsibility for our image.
Every time I come on a forum like this and preach about responsibility and keeping the movement "on message," a few of the destructive and misguided fringers will yell and scream and misappropriate words like "freedom" and "censorship."
The funny thing is, when I used to address the Meetups face to face I saw nothing but nodding heads. Everyone was on board, or at least recognized that everyone else was on board, so they'd be isolated if they tried showing up at rallies with 9/11 propaganda. Sure, at really BIG events, you'd see a small number of fringe elements. But online, it seems like they're bolder and unapologetic.
I guess the internet gives more cover people who don't want to be responsible and accountable. I'd like to see the Mike Lawsons, Jiminy Crickets, and paul4wons of the world object at an in-person Meetup where 39 of the 40 people there want to focus on mainstream liberty issues and not put together slim jims about the Bilderberg group for election day. "Don't intrude on my freedom with your 'let's stay focused' fascism, mannnnn!" Right. Whatever.

They all indulge in intelligent conversation and debate.

Mainstream issues can be discussed anywhere.
What is different about Dailypaul is that here we can have discussions with like-minded people about topics beyond the mainstream as well.
Some of us are capable of discussing both.
But just because you fail to see the relevance of some things talked about here does not mean they are not relevant.
Btw, Ron Paul is not exactly considered mainstream and is referred to as "fringe" by many.
WCU4Paul, not all of us have a one-track mind. The people you listed can and do talk about a variety of things.
YOU, however, seem incapable of posting anything but criticism and insults.
If you are so concerned about image, you might want to take a moment to reflect on that.
Also, since you decided to take another potshot at Mike Lawson, I will point out to you again, as I did on the "generals" thread, that Michael Nystrom referred to Lawson as a huge asset to the DP.
Please step out of your sour mood and at least consider why he might say that.
P.S. I'm flattered that you put me in such good company as Paul4won and Lawson. So for that, thanks.
Fringe issues can be discussed elsewhere
There are dedicated forums for 9/11 truth, conspiracies, etc.
What is different about DailyPaul is that it's a website for restoring constitutional liberty. It's a website about Ron Paul (hence the name), for like-minded people interested in his political objectives.
I have a one-track mind? Search my history. I've discussed a variety of topics. I've posted constructive material. But the movement has fractured.
So go ahead, twist everything around. Make it sound like I'm calling these issues "irrelevant" or that I'm "incapable" of discussing them, when really this is about staying on message and keeping this movement coherent.
I suggest you look up "mission creep." It's what the fringers are engaging in. Well, that and entryism. They're hijacking this movement. Are they legitimate members of it? Some are, sure. I know a lot of loyal Ron Paul supporters who also have interest in various "fringe" topics. But the good ones - the loyal ones - can keep those interests separate.
So go ahead and insult me for not being able to walk and chew gum at the same time. Brag about how you've sold Michael Nystrom on your destructive take, and how he's made the mistake of allowing you to hijack this forum and complemented one of the most cancerous individuals on the site. While I've long admired Michael's dedication and perseverance, I also gave up on him over the past year. Sometimes people lose their way. It's usually not a complete 180, and in this case it's just allowing certain elements to lead you down an inefficient, self-destructive path.
Mark my words: the fringe elements will set this movement back 10 years. We have a unique opportunity brewing that could start to bear electoral fruit over the next few cycles, which could then lead to even bigger victories down the road. But the fringers will short circuit all of that.
It's time for everyone - fringer and mainstream - to ask themselves what side they're on.
* Do you want to focus on winning and building this movement, which requires sticking to issues that can grow our movement? Putting liberty-minded individuals in seats of power can then help us all achieve our goals (even the fringers who want more disclosure and re-investigations).
or
* Do you want to use this movement to spread your fringe messages, knowing full well that this will alienate many both inside the movement and outside of it who could help us grow, thereby making our prospects for success much bleaker?

How about
How about anarcho-capitalism? This site has all but endorsed that view(see blogs).
Ron Paul is the one that brought up the NAU/NWO.
I disagree that conspiracy theorists/anarchists had any negative effect on the actual campaign, but we should be on guard in the future.

WCU4Paul, please try to understand that not everyone...
...has the same interests. What might trigger one person's awakening might not be the same for another.
It is not necessary to put a dividing line down the middle of the movement. Since pretty much everything about it has been determined to be "fringe" anyway, including Ron Paul, who decides what makes the cut? You?
As I've tried to tell you, just because you don't see the relevance of some topics to the restoration of Constitutional liberty does not mean they are not relevant.
Maybe there are forums dedicated to specific things, such as 9/11 truth as you mention, but there is no need to try to put people in boxes. The problems we face are multifaceted and we can discuss them here.
We share and learn here. We even have a bit of fun in fellowship here. Sometimes we squabble here. But regardless of which end of the fringe spectrum we're on, most of us are here for a common reason.
WCU4Paul, please do not be hardhearted toward fellow patriots.
Wonder how they will feel when they learn Beck lies about 9-11?
Epiphanies are a dime a dozen. Stare down the truth, realize your life was a lie, your parent's lives were lies, and your grandparents had everything they earned stolen from them. Come to understand that TV that Beck beckons from is still a lie, that it was conceived and executed as a means to control your mind. Turn it off for a year, watch the world go through the seasons and realize how many times you missed the first snowfall, the first daffodil. Go read the stories of Barry Jennings and Beverly Eckert. Think how they felt, dying to get the world to look at 9-11, and now Beck waves a flag of "9-12." Then tell me about "feeling cheated."
Truth exists, and it deserves to be cherished.

Stop believing in the presstitutes and prostiticians that work for the gangster bankers and NOT America. One day we will have a real tea party, a real revolution to bring these parasites back under control.

Have You Joined Your Local 9/12 Meetup Group Yet?.....
If you haven't ..now is the time!
Contact the organizers and offer a movie night, ask them to put it on the group calendar - at your place, a college campus or even a local theater - I've rented a theater room before - alot of smaller theaters offer private showings with a movie you provide..seems like a good time to do it again!

all that work ....climaxes on "For Liberty" and 912. LOL
what a way for it to work.....Fox tried to deceive the people against but handed Ron Paul and his movement the perfect opportunity. This can only be an Act of God.

I think that Fox News
is probably quite aware at this time that they marginalized Dr. Paul, who wa the only candidate that turned out to be right about everything, and all the other candidates that Fox overtly promoted turned out to be worthless turds.
I think everybody else is now also aware of that.
Fox is basically "The War Channel". They live to promote more wars for the US to fight for Israel.
Neo-Cons. Fakes. Infiltrators.
Dr. Paul wasn't "pro-war", so they spurned him. Simple as that.
I'd like to see some competition from a real paleo-conservative news channel, that aligns with Dr Paul's positions.
I have to disagree that Fox "marginalized" Paul.
He wasn't put in one of the debates because he was polling less than 5%. He wasn't the only Republican excluded because of that.
Hannity said something about not believing one of the text polls for a debate, but I have to agree with him because it wasn't a scientific poll. Obviously, otherwise Dr. Paul would have been winning primaries. Hannity disagrees with Dr. Paul over foreign policy, but so what?
Beck attacked followers of Dr. Paul, not Dr. Paul himself, because Beck was receiving violent threats. I think people are hesitant to bring Dr. Paul on for interviews because if they interviewer doesn't bow down to everything Dr. Paul says then they start receiving death threats.
You may be able to find select things that some commentator might have said that was negative, but overall I don't think it's true that Fox News in general marginalized him. I think they gave him more interviews and publicity than any other network.
This thing about singling out Fox for attack is ridiculous. It's the same thing the Obama administration does. They don't attack any other news network for being biased, only Fox.
I'm sure what I'm saying is politically incorrect here, and I'm going to attacked for not going along with the mob, but it's how I see it.
By the way the text above appears to me to be from a Paul supporter pretending to be a 9/12'er. It's too predictable.
That's my take.
Paul was marginalized by Fox
every time Fox opened their mouths.
Dr Paul was definitely marginalized during the
campaign.
Having followed nearly all of the campaign trail, many here will remember how he was treated, ridiculed with the questions asked if they would allow him to be interviewed, omitting his name off scoring boards, or missing among the available Republican candidates, and yes, not invited for one of the debates. One?? ummm.. I do remember there were more occasions. All in all, Mainstream media together with the Republican Party gave Ron Paul the shabbiest of treatments.
I have the impression you weren't around here on the Daily Paul during the Presidential campaign. If you were, you would never forget how Dr. Paul was treated.
death threats?
death threats are an unfortunate aspect the rich and famous will always have to live with...
for you to use them here is, in my opinion, a form of terrorism towards a movement you wish to see stalled...
sorry, this movement won't be slowed, please try again...

I know that you have difficulty answering simple, yes or no questions, but I'll give it a shot anyway.
Did you watch the film?
