Please let me clarify: This thread is to have viewers look at the credentials and decide if this Citizen is worthy of being called a Patriot and a Liberty candidate. I am reluctant to ask dpers to donate money to any one of the CC2009 delegates. I pointed out on another thread what the actual cost for SC delegates (like our BFrank) would be. What I am asking, however, is for dpers to educate themselves about CC2009 and see who have been elected delegates from their state. If they like what they see, they can get involved by asking questions or making suggestions on their state conference calls before November 11th or emailing the delegate(s). The CC2009 event runs November 11th through the 22nd. Everyone of us can participate each day and help make this a nation-wide think tank event. The possibilities are as unlimited as our collective creativity. givemeliberty.org

It's much better..
Have you seen http://www.ontheissues.org/default.htm
I suggest you make a page for that site, so to speak... a CC candidate.
Have a good posting day!

Pretend it's Issues 2012
Issues are what seperate Ron Paul from everyone else. Ron Paul talks about ISSUES. He's VERY CLEAR on his issues.

Yes, as shown, this Citizen has campaigned for Ron Paul so
I'm confident that he/she knows the issues and supports Ron Paul's positions. However, our tuxedo cat is more of an independent.

Several people who support Ron Paul
do not support cannabis.. and that's my issue, So just because you support Ron Paul, is not good enough for me to vote for.

The drug war is a big issue,
The drug war is a big issue, but not as big as the war and police state. We need to stop the killing ASAP.
Ventura 2012
Missing the point...
The War on Drugs IS the police state, it IS aggression towards other countries and it IS killing people every minute of every day. Do you think none of that drug money goes right into our corrupt government through backroom bribes and legislation intended to keep the status quo; the cartels and our lovely military-industrial complex acting as off-the-record mercenaries and catalysts to eliminate political enemies harmful to US "interests," and to propagate favors to the highest bidders? And what if some of those highest bidders come from outside our borders, unaffected by our laws and jurisdiction? Is oil the ONLY resource we go to war over? Even if our government was "squeaky clean," (which it obviously is not) how do you explain the recent developments with Karzai's brother and the domino effect that results?
The Drug War issue strikes at the heart, the very essence of tyrrany, and is NOT separate from the others. They are intimately tied together, a multi-pronged attack from lethal claws of the same brutal beast. The Drug War is an assault on basic constitutional rights, it is a repudiation of personal liberty, it is an economic black hole and a relentless opponent of human progress, innovation and our own evolution as a species.
What happens when you legalize/decriminalize drugs? How much more money comes into the system by legal means, how many more people are released from jail (and by extension, sexual and violent aggression from actual criminals and societal bottom-feeders) and become or return to being productive members of society? How many more qualified people are hired because they don't have to worry about drug tests for even the slightest trace of something as common and benign as pot, which is the MAIN test? How many more students go to college without bullshit financial aid restrictions and for some are able to explore their craft in altered states of conciousness and create breakthroughs (anyone arguing that one with me hasn't met many artists, and should destroy most of the music ever listened to that's enhanced his or her life over the years)? How many more lives are saved from thuggish Nazi tactics of breaking and entering people's homes and invading their privacy under the pretense of drugs, or of using such threats to get something else from them? How many more examples should I give beyond the fact that I should have already made my point long ago?
Look, you obviously have your head on straight and you understand there's a big problem going on here, but I get very angry when I'm told this issue is somehow "less important" than all the other politically correct issues that get more media coverage, especially considering that by now we all should know that political, personal and economic freedom are not mutually exclusive things. They are one and the same, tied together inexorably by the guiding principles of life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness. Just because my version of those things is different than anyone else's does NOT give them the right to take them away from me if I've done no harm and caused no aggression towards anyone else.
Beyond that gripe, I totally agree with you, the police state and the wars need to end, now. Good luck on your side of the battlefront, Patriot! :)

If I could write
I would write a book. YOU can write. Write a book, You've GOT talent. You were wonderful the way you explained the situation. I thank you.
I am burned out. I admit it. I'm not apathetic... I know we will win and end the war on drugs... I'm no longer in my teens or twenties or thirties or fourties and all these years of .. it's been one hell of a tsunami.
I would like it if you made your post into a top post. You talk very matter of factly about something that is very complecated.. like how Ron Paul makes understanding economics not so complicated. It's refreshing.
Write on!!
Have a good posting day!

Wow, that's pretty humbling...thank you, Granger!
And you're very welcome, I'm honored and extremely flattered that you enjoyed the post and my writing so much, especially since you're one who knows and understands this issue intimately and has been dealing with it for years. I'm only 27, but I feel it too...the spiritual fatigue that this back-and-forth struggle for human decency, compassion and logic instills. You're right, it has been a tsunami, and sometimes I feel like I'm drowning and I can't find my way to break the surface and see the sun...
I have watched truly good and productive people get their lives destroyed and others routinely and relentlessly harassed for their non-violent "crimes." I have had guns repeatedly pointed at my head and my family's lives threatened by ignorant thugs-with-shields who proclaimed I was guilty and had to be proven innocent (which I was, every time). I've done the research and had the stunned epiphany of learning how these idiot laws were enacted and for what reasons, and every day I see evidence of eroding communities and deep distrust and outright hatred of law enforcement that inevitably results in a good person, with or without a badge, needlessly getting killed for the dumbest f*cking reasons imaginable. In the relatively short time I've been active in this fight, I've watched the tug-of-war of drug legalization/decriminalization come tantalizingly close to victory and then slip back into political obscurity, to be mocked by lesser and/or tragically ignorant men and women.
I agree with you wholeheartedly that we WILL win this war; it is inevitable. I feel incredibly fortunate and excited that in my life, especially now, I have witnessed the words and actions of Dr. Paul, my epicenter of the Remnant, and have seen the reassertion of states' rights, and the concept of individual liberty permeate the hearts and minds of good and respected people from across the spectrum of our species. We will evolve; the saddest question being when? Who will be the last to die in this war? The last unarmed civilian, the last misguided police officer, the last student or father or sister or child or teacher?
When can you or I or any other sit on our goddam porch and enjoy a big, fat blunt without the survivalist instinct to remind ourselves the stigma of our actions and sweep the perimeter with cautious, paranoid eyes?
I realized I sure am asking alot of questions, and I wrote alot more than I meant to for a simple "thank you" reply! I think watching Ron Paul's "What if?" video (again) put me in this mood, though quite frankly, it feels good to write all this, especially to one who truly understands every iota of anguish and hope of what I say. That's why I come to the Daily Paul, and reaffirm my hope for my country and the human race with every comment and debate (as wonderfully heterogeneous as they are) from true Patriots like yourself.
Write on, indeed. :)

I should say it's an honor to know you. I think this may be true.
27 is perfect age to become a professional writer, if you are not already. The questions you ask could be the questions of charactors in a novel, or short story, or real life people..
It's all up to how you want to "employ" the questions to make your points, which you know by heart, and have a passion that is good. If you are not a professional writer, you might think about it as a business. Write a book. Write articles,
Write on Hobbes82

So far looks good..... where's the trick?

No trick here. I had to be rather generic because my last
thread was deleted for being too personal. So based on this information, would you support him/her?

Based on the above info, I would investigate further.....
I like to watch people speak and not only hear what they say but watch their interactions and their body language. Anyone can list a resume which may or may not be true. Hearing their positions and watching them to see if they are consistent and well-grounded in their beliefs is also important.
BUT, if this person is thinking of running for office, and this is all true, it looks like they might be a welcome candidate for the freedom movement.

This Citizen is a CC2009 delegate from WV. Here is a picture

Perhaps I don't understand what you want....
If he is from your area and you have watched him in action, and you think he is a freedom candidate then get out there and support him. Why are you asking US (who don't live there) for our opinion? Use your eyes and ears and your intellect to determine his sincerity.... and then act on your judgement.

Because CC2009 involves all of us as a nation. Do you know who
your state CC2009 delegates are? Do you support them? Are you in touch with them? If not, why are you not paying attention? Do you think this is some insignificant event? Why is RJ Harris a delegate? Does he consider this Congress worthy of his involvement? Go to: givemeliberty.org and get back to me.

OK, NOW I understand.... you were asking if we, here
at DP would FINANCIALLY support this person as a CC2009 delegate. Maybe if you had made yourself clear earlier you wouldn't have had to get so frustrated with the answers you were getting. Clarity helps sometimes. Maybe you should re-title your post and you would get what you want.
(and there's no need to get snippy!)

you should put this in the main section
It is really confusing the way it is right now. It actually doesn't make much sense without what you just typed. BTW, after reading what you just typed, I checked out all of my delegates, or whatever they are called for the CC.
I'm not realy sold on the idea this CC2009 is going to accomplish anything at all, but I'm happy they are doing something.
Thanks for the advice. I shall do it. btw I am interested in
viewing the background of your delegates. What is your state? If you contact them, let us know what you find out.
