Less than $2000 for RJ Harris - this is just sad - a DP and retakecongress.com endorsed candidate money bomb raises so little

If you, or anyone wants to be taken seriously on tactics/strategy, you must read this first. I link to the un-annotated version because it is short, just a few pages long and contains more wisdom than all of the posts like this combined:

After having read that, if you can clearly define why you still think it is a good idea, than great. Please list the reasons and the appropriate reference points from the text as to why it is a valid strategic decision.

Btw, I donated to RJ Harris, so I am not arguing that we should not donate to him. But the one thing that lacks in our camp is coherent strategy. I really wish more people would take the 30 minutes to at least read the above, and a few days to contemplate the meanings of the various points.

I just want to say how proud I am of you guys and thank all of you for jumping in and supporting this mini-bomb put on by retakecongress.com and dailypaul.com. Don't be discouraged ThePatriot, with very short notice, and with mainly just the DPers participating, you raised us near 3k which will help out very much for some immediate campaign needs. Expectations being what they are, when we see a candidate coming in with a pre-built media persona and see him bring in triple digits, it's easy to get excited and hope we can do the same for every candidate. But the fact is, as you said, we can win some of these races for allot less money than others. The RJ Harris 2010 campaign is turning your donations into amazing local poll numbers AND into district wide exposure. In time that exposure will matriculate into matching funds coming from within the district once more local supporters hear our message of liberty and freedom restored. With that in mind we need to keep our chins up, fight with endurance and take the victories, big and small, where we find them.

PS I disagree with you Eric. There are some very wounded incumbants out here and I am challenging one of them. We are within striking distance and we have the poll numbers to prove it. With 100k, we WILL win this race.

Does RJ Harris upload videos to YouTube? If so, I think that would be a very effective way for people to get to know him better and maybe be more inclined to donate. Maybe it would be good to promote his videos more on DP, etc.

It's a small amount I know.

I'm a one horse pony sort of guy. I'm not giving $10 to every candidate running, I'm giving $1,000 to Rand. I already gave $50 to Schiff, and I'd prefer to concentrate on 1-2 candidates. It's no offense to the other guys, but I'd rather we concentrate on Rand and Peter. I'd rather see them actually WIN two high value seats than see everyone make a good show and LOSE.

I just really can't believe the lack of support for all of these people busting their asses, putting their lives on hold, neglecting time with their family to fight for freedom only to be disrespected by lack of financial support because they may not be famous enough for folks here. Freedom has a price it is not free and these people are walking the walk and we are not supporting them, so why should they continue to fight? You know why? because they care about WTF is going on in our country and if we won't help them they have no chance to bring us real change.

Well, normally I'd be a bit less offensive, but since you're ranting you can suck it. We can't fund EVERY candidate. Your ideas that those would run winning races for 30 candidates is absurd. Get a hold on reality. We've got TV time NATIONALLY for Rand and Peter. They've got the best shots of winning here, and they're the most important shots we've got. They already have the money, they already have the TV time, and spreading out at a time we need to concentrate to win even just one more spot is an absurd idea. You don't thin your lines when you're going to charge, you focus as much firepower on a single point as possible to break through.

Lots of people care. I care, you care, we all care; but logistics are a completely different story. Truth be told, I'm all for everyone fighting, but we can't stage a takeover like you're implying. These people should be running LOCAL campaigns, not Federal campaigns. The movement has chosen by donation who the picks for this year are. It sucks that there isn't enough money to fund everyone, but quit being an idiot about it and get off your high horse.

* There is a big money bomb for all these candidates on Nov 5th..perhaps it was bad timing to ask for one so close to the other? Please remember we are constantly being bombarded with donation requests and some of us have been out of work and unable to do what we wish we could.

I hope to be able to contribute $100 ~ $25 each to 4 candidates on Nov 5th! I would like to pick the ones that are most in need. These candidates need to also ask their local districts and state citizens to step up and contribute as much as possible!

I really like RJ Harris and many of the others and I know how important it is! FYI I just noticed yesterday there was to be a money bomb for him ..so maybe efforts at spreading the word wider than DP would be wise to get better results.

it could be more but my wallet is getting pretty thin. I think all the fund raising is nice but one on top of the other is hard on people. I wonder if there are any ideas what we could do to help these people that doesn't cost much. Hmmm, I was wondering, remember how when Dr. Paul was running and people made homemade signs and put them up. What if we have some sort of connecting site by state and area and candidate. If we see a candidate from our state we try and see what we can do. Maybe, someone can come up with some better ideas.
