Republican Dede Scozzafava has suspended her bid in next Tuesday’s NY 23 special election, a huge development that dramatically shakes up the race. She did not endorse either of her two opponents -- Conservative party candidate Doug Hoffman or Democrat Bill Owens.
(Teaparty) Hoffman, who already had the support of 50 percent of GOP voters, according to a newly-released Siena poll, is now well-positioned to win over the 25 percent of Republicans who had been sticking with Scozzafava.
Oh yeah.... a purge is a comin'..... DON'T SLACK.... ATTACK!!!!!

Is there a Libertarian in race?
Hoffman is a social warrior, I dont like the guy. It is a shame he is the kind of third party candidate that might win. These huge government programs should be a given for any conservative to be against. When we start getting guys who argee with our foreign policy who are winnning, then we might be getting somewhere.
This whole race is nothing but the GOP trying to seem non partisan, they are doing a great job of it too, they sheeple are loving it.
Now we will see guys who claim they are against bailouts, PelosiCare, cap and trade, be hailed as the answer. What about things like Patriot Act, War in Iraq, drug War, Federal Reserve, all the things that seperated Ron Paul from the rest of the GOP. Their is nothing good coming from this election although the party bosses are having a good time.
With a democratic majority
With a democratic majority and president, Hoffman will be a much more reliable check on their power than Scozzafava ever would be. He's not perfect (not even close) but it's still a step in the right direction. I don't trust any New York politicians on financial/monetary issues, but on stuff like health care, cap and trade and, post 2010 election, guns, this is a step in the right direction.
It's also a great wakeup call to the GOP powers that be that they are on the wrong side of history, and unless they get out of the way and start listening to their grassroots, they'll be goners. As for the democrats, this will make it harder to maintain that America is broadly behind their drivel. With some luck, maybe this will even sway a democratic senator or two to join the GOP in opposing Obamacare. And so much for the White House attack on Fox "discrediting" that network.
