As they signed it to appease their constituents. They were counting on the usual political tricks to save their corrupt hides. This recent move by Mel Watts is the trick, and it will be 'interesting to see the mugwumps trying to stay on the fence as they are pulled to and fro! (A mugwump is a politician with his mug on one side of the fence and his wump on the other)

That's not entirely true. Their goals could INCLUDE an audit
Not a real intense audit, but just enough of one to announce that the Fed is no good and we need the IMF to save us. One way or another, we're running into the arms of the banking families. I say instead of auditing the fed we should kick Rothschilds, Rockefellers, Warburgs and a few others squarely in the head repeatedly and take their stuff. But that's just me.

That depends on "who" they respect as their source of their job: their home State people, or the D.C. establishment. If homestate people would organize their message, outside of the circus shows of GOP Vs. Democrat, and let their representatives know who the REAL boss is, we might see some actual "representative" government. But as long as everyone is apathetic, and let the unelected goons in D.C. control our Congress people, we'll be played like the pawns. There is a reason that the GOP and Democrats work real hard to squash 3rd parties. They don't want to the people to ever demand accountability. "Leave it to the big party to steer the course", they say. You'll find the same rotten apples running the big parties, as you will in the back room of the established D.C. "broker" rooms.

What's your point?
It's the people versus the bankers with the politicians in the middle. The politicians will do everything wrong they can get away with until the people organize themselves in such a way the politicians have no choice. Or a disaster comes, the SHTF, and everyone gets wiped out. The most likely scenario is the last one, IMO, but there's no choice other than to pursue political action. That's just how it is.

Yep smack dab in the middle
Congress created the federal reserve and they can un-create it. The people want it gone. Therefore, between the people and the bankers stand the politicians in Congress. So far the politicos have proven utterly corrupted by the bankers. But they still hold the key to the solution. It's up to the people to change that or to go down in a flaming wreck.
So what's your point?
