Renew "The Liberty Tree"!

0 votes

The Liberty Tree was a symbol of freedom as our country was formed. It was used to express our love of freedom and our hatred of tyranny! As America was formed, "liberty trees" sprouted up and were used as continuing symbol and reminder of how precious freedom was! I think this is an incredible concept, and should be renewed. Originally, banners and lanterns were put on this tree and it would stand proudly symbolizing the freedom and liberty so important in American life. Well, here is a wikipedia blurb about this unique American symbol and, well, you know, an oak was once an acorn, and a trend was once a simple idea. So, let me know what you all think!

What I would like to see is "liberty trees" as far as the eye can see!

Historic Trees

Those of you interested in this idea, might want to consider planting the offspring of a historic tree. americanforests.org charges about $40 for descendants of trees from historical places or properties.
Some examples:
Andrew Jackson Southern Magnolia or Redbud
George Washington Tulip Poplar, Red Maple or Redbud
Montpelier Kentucky Coffee tree - from James Madison's home
Patrick Henry Osage Orange

thank you!

I hope it is an idea that catches on!

I think you have

a great idea betty. While we are at it we can talk to people about the Constitution and what freedom means.

Prepare & Share the Message of Freedom through Positive-Peaceful-Activism.

Thank you!

I started losing hope on what I think is a dandy idea! I think that people can plant them in their yards, and decorate them with banners, year around! It could get very creative! And decorative! We could force our town councils to plant them, etc. Just think what would happen in five years if every RP'er planted a liberty tree and decorated it!

Great idea. I'm going to see

Great idea. I'm going to see if I can get one planted in our town park.

You Judge A Tree By It's Fruit, NOT its Flower

Thank you!

Great Idea! Perhaps if the RP'ers would get together and make a formal request with their city/towns across America - think about the results. People could put banners and notes on the tree proclaiming their desire and need for freedom! This would be a powerful symbol for those in power and those in our communities! A plaque in front, with an open invitation to put up a banner, sort of like putting up an ornament on our Christmas trees.

I'm bumping this to get more feedback!

Looking forward to hearing your opinion!

Due to the single-handed effort of "Boise Ben." Here he is speaking at our first "Smedley Butler Day" - please go view, rate and share! It IS supporting Idaho's Liberty Tree

By the way, it opens with one of our CC09 delegates.
