Did Dr. Paul vote to expel James Traficant from the House?

0 votes

I read the following paragraph in the James Traficant interview in the American Free Press:
"To most of those members who are supporting Ron Paul’s measure (to audit the Fed), it is a matter of political expedience. I don’t attribute that to Ron Paul. I believe he’s sincere and his heart is in the right place. I was a little disappointed, by the way, that he voted with the others to expel me from the House of Representatives. I thought he would have looked at that a lot differently and I know that if he had all this information about what really happened in my case he probably would have. I like Ron and he’s a good man."
I thought that I read or heard that Dr. Paul either abstained or voted no on that issue. Does anyone know? If Traficant is misinformed, he needs to know. We need him on our team.

Traficant is VERY misinformed

The vote was as follows:
yes - 420
no - 1 (Gary Condit)
abstaining - 9 (including Ron Paul)

Ron Paul gave a speech on the house floor defending Traficant:

Thank you

Someone needs to let Traficant know that Dr. Paul did not vote to expel him.

Ron Paul's not perfect

that was awhile ago and maybe he was acting when he didn't know the whole story.

If Dr. Paul voted no...

then there was a reason, and it was probably a good one.
