rhino: A very important note about today's rally in D.C.

Ron Paul did not speak at the event.

Bachman is a student not worthy of her teacher's support.

That is how I take it.

Ron Paul knows how to play the game.

He has been at it for decades.

Although he was the inspiration of the Tea Party movement, it has morphed into something he is leary about being associated with.

I have mentioned my reservations as well, to my friends and on local blogs.

When this morphed movement begins to hint that our first move should be to bring our troups home and start cutting our foreign policy expenditures before we address our domestic policy spending then, I believe, Dr. Paul will step out of shadows.

Do not forget this.

If you do ...

You will be labeled a hypocrite.

God Bless.

Make my skin crawl... We know better than to attempt to be amateur psycholgists and foster infighting with individuals spoiling for a fight. "We're surrounded in all directions!" "Dude, why are you pointing the gun at YOUR own head!?!" Fight the power, not each other.

That's self defeating.

Dr. Paul has indeed spoken at tea parties, by the way.

You apparently like the idea of those of us who are anti-foreign-interventionists, including Dr. Paul, staying home. But what does that accomplish? Nothing. We need to be out there with anti-war signs, so our signs will be shown in the news. If there is no anti-war message at Tea Parties, we have no one to blame but ourselves.

Quoting you, you say "When this morphed movement begins to hint that our first move should be to bring our troups home and start cutting our foreign policy expenditures before we address our domestic policy spending then, I believe, Dr. Paul will step out of shadows." What you're saying here is Dr. Paul is a follower, rather than a leader. You're saying he's waiting for someone ELSE to speak out against war at Tea Parties.

Michelle Bachman is

this really a person we can trust?

Rand has spoken at several Tea Parties

I don't think Ron is "leery" of speaking at these. Rather I believe he feels he has laid the groundwork for this movement and he is allowing leaders to develop within it's ranks.

Many of you disparage the Tea Party movement but I do believe the American people truly are waking up.

Their eyes have opened and

their ears have perked up because they now know something is very wrong. They are not awake until their eyes and ears get the correct info. Unfortunately, they are looking to the wrong people to get the correct info. They are ripe for picking but we cannot compete on the big megaphone mass scale. Our best hope to inoculate these people from reacquiring the faux virus is to speak with them one on one at these gatherings and steer them to our small megaphones and explain why they need to stop trusting big megaphones.

"You are a den of vipers and thieves."

I mean to rout you out!

I don't think Ron Paul feels he

"laid the groundwork for this movement." The movement has been building for many years. Ron Paul didn't create a bunch of libertarians and he knows it. We were already there waiting for a viable candidate to come along. Dr. Paul has acknowledge this saying he didn't expect that there would be so many people there to support it him, pointing out that these ideas were already propagating. Dr. Paul's candidacy just gave it additional spark.

That's what those here who disparage the Tea Party's need to realize this too. The "movement" is much bigger than we Ron Paul supporters. This is a mass movement, of which the Ron Paul movement is just one part. Many of the tea partiers may not have a 100% pure libertarian philosophy, but that's ok. If you demand 100% philosophical purity, nothing is going to get done. Dr. Paul will even work with socialists like Kucinich and Barney Frank sometimes, after all.

I do not disparage them ...

I merely point out the weakness in their message.

The message is simply anti-government.

If we want anti-foreign interventionism to be included in that message that gets on the news, then we have to attend the Tea Parties.

I'm unsure of how to view

I'm unsure of how to view all of the tea parties. I'm also very suspicious of the 9/12 project.

The tea parties are indeed

The tea parties are indeed faux. But Michele Bachmann invited Ron Paul to her town hall meeting. It didn't bother me that Bachmann asked people to come to the Capitol today.

Michele Bachmann

has less than 1/10th the experience that Ron Paul has. I'd say she's doing just fine to motivate 10,000 people and a major celebrity with less than a week's notice, to come to D.C. and get eyeball-to-eyeball with the pols. She's a natural leader and unlike Palin she's no-nonsense.

"GINO" = Government In Name Only

He hasn't spoken at any of the faux tea parties!!

Why?

I am sure he was begged to speak.

Why has he declined?

WAHOR!!

Because they are neo cons

and he knows it and they are largely organized by the old GOP. The very same that marginalized him during the campaign.

The neocons stole the tea

The neocons stole the tea party idea from us. And today on Limbaugh, the substitute for Rush said the GOP has their mojo working. He stole that from Rand Paul. They just can't come up with a good idea on their own. Ha!
