Unarmed soldiers and citizens slaughtered at Ft. Hood

That should be the headline across America today. Of course we here at the Daily Paul know better. Why would a reporter report the facts as they relate to our precious rights.

I heard on two separate media outlets (one TV, one Radio) experts both use the phrase,"worst killing of soldiers in peacetime". Peacetime? I thought we were in a global war on terror? Now we are at peace?

In reality as Dr. Paul would state it is a lack of respect for the 2nd amendment that got these people killed. The fact that it happened on a military installation is even more appalling. Our soldiers who have sworn an oath to defend the constitution, are not allowed by regulation to be armed.

Consider the following quote from an army specialist stationed at Ft. Hood where the mehem took place. "I was confused and just shocked," said Spc. Jerry Richard, 27, who works at the center but was not on duty during the shooting. "Overseas you are ready for it. But here you can't even defend yourself."

"But here you can't even defend yourself"? What kind of place makes its soldiers swear an oath to defend our right to bear arms and defend ourselves, and then prohibits the very exercise of those rights?

Military commanders are derelict in their duty. They should at least admit the fact today in light of these grim events and order military personnel to carry at all times.

If they would use there own rhetoric and admit we are at war in a global war on terror, then everywhere is a war zone and soldiers should be armed.

But this will be spun just as one more reason to continue fighting the bastards over there while our rights continue to erode over here.

Carry open or concealed, I don't care. Just carry. If anyone questions you why you are carrying. Simply ask them why they are not? Ask them if the soldiers had been allowed to carry on Ft. Hood if they would still be alive or at least had a chance to defend themselves. Ask them if they would defend themselves or their family if attacked randomly or would they call 911 and then be victims.

Even in several of the news reports the military is not ruling out that it is possible there were friendly fire victims amongst the dead and wounded. That would mean the "rescuers" ended up killing innocent people, if that report is true. Wouldn't it be better if a shooter pulled a gun on an unsuspecting crowd of citizens if those same citizens excersized their inalienable rights and defended themselves right there? You tell me.
