I thought the view was a flop, until.....
Submitted by rprevolutionist on Wed, 12/05/2007 - 19:14I was stopped at a traffic light on my way home this evening. The people on my left started waving wildly (as I have Ron shoe polished all over my windows) ( a couple in their, I would guess, 70's), I rolled down my window and the lady yelled I love what I've heard him say! Well I whip out a slim jim, had to put the car in park and get out as we were too far apart to just hand it to her. One of the few times I ever appreciated a long red light! lol She said they had never heard of him til the other day she saw him on t. v. I asked if she saw him on the view, she said yes, and she was so excited about him. So even though I felt the View didn't do our man justice, it did reach another venue. So here's a big atta boy for the view!

Wherever you go!
I wear my Ron Paul gear to the gym, to the movies, pretty much "wherever" as you just don't know the impact it will have.
Coming out of a Kinko's one night after our Meet-Up, I had two ladies who stopped me after seeing my Ron Paul shirt and Ron Paul cap on, who asked, "Who is Ron Paul?" When I told them a Republican Presidential candidate, they seemed shocked. One immediately responded with how she could "never" vote for Rudy or Mitt, so they asked about Ron. Within five minutes they were leaving with slimjims and bumper stickers for Ron!
I get lots of comments in the gym, mostly from guys just curious about either "who" Ron is or "what" his positions are. In fact, the front desk guys at the gym always (jokingly) greet me with "Hey Ron!" as I'm walking in to workout...lol. I tell them, "Just get used to saying that name ."
I thought Ron was fantastic
I watched the View video after I heard the pro's and con's from everyone here, so I kind of knew what to expect.
Here's what I saw: 4 complete morons sitting on a couch with a wise man.
I suspect that the American public saw the same thing. Every time those women opened their mouth, they let the public in on a little secret: they have no idea what they're talking about. Just having them talking to a man of principle and values was a very powerful thing that will have a tremendous effect on the psyche of the American people.

This story is exactly why
This story is exactly why Ron Paul needs to accept any TV interview possible. Stat. Glenn Beck, Chris Mathews, Barney the Dinosaur. They're all in play.
"Good morning, Mr. Greenspan. I understand that you did not take my friendly advice last fall. I thought maybe you should look for other employment, but I see you have kept your job."
ROFL! Barney the Dinosaur!
ROFL! Barney the Dinosaur!
LOL
Barney loves Ron; Ron loves Barney...(cue the music...lol)

I changed my name on Internet Chess CLub to "RonPaul2008"
I can't go three games without someone saying "Go Ron Paul!!"
Most of these people haven't heard of DailyPaul, so I direct them here and to RonPaulLIbrary. It's awesome!

Drive-by WAVINGS
Most people think of drive-by SHOOTINGS, but we have drive-by WAVINGS...LOL!
Several weeks ago I was at a traffic light stop when an elderly gentlemen pulled up next to me as both of our windows were rolled down (nice weather day) and he simply yelled over, "Sir...sir..." Thinking a tire was low, my gas cap was open or something similar I said "Yes..." He responded, "I saw your bumper sticker (Restore the Republic, Vote Ron Paul for President). He's the only man telling the truth, isn't he?"
We exchanged a few words during the light and went on our way. Last week a car FULL of teenagers passed me on the road, honking their horn, point to my bumper sticker in back, all of them giving me the thumbs-up.
Gotta love those drive-by WAVINGS! :-)
I get a lot of these, mostly as "Thumbs Up"
... because I drive a truck with 12x18 magnetic signs for Ron Paul all over it. I have 2 in the back, and 2 on each side of my blue pickup truck, and a few smaller ones.
Progress with new Ron Paul supporters
Congratulations! Nice job sharing the rEVOLution. Dr. Paul did great on the View. Many new folks learned about the goodness of our man.

Since we're sharing stories-
Since we're sharing stories- My wife and I went to the Seattle Symphony's Christmas music presentation last Friday. When we parked in the garage, we could see a truck in the deck below us with two Ron Paul bumper stickers on it. When we were leaving, it was taking forever to get out of the garage. We see the couple, 40's age, walking to the truck. I had my wife put her window down and yelled "Ron Paul for President!" The guy was already in the truck and honked the horn so fast when he heard me that it was funny (like a knee jerk reaction)! The woman wasn't in yet, so she looked around to find us and I was giving a big thumbs up out the window. She had a HUGE smile on her face and waved at us with much enthusiasm. It was fun!
I still think
An appearance on the View would have more impact that an appearance on Glen Beck. I just wish they would put him on again and give him more time.
You made my day

That's 50% of his appeal
Is that Ron Paul is obviously so honest and decent. That is what would get him elected if he got nominated. His opponents would fire every weapon they had at him and none would work as his decency shines through. He is everything Republicans ever pretended they wanted. He can be prolife in front of a bunch of prochoicers and it's okay.

Yes, that is amazingly so
In my case, I almost didn't watch the video of The View because I am very pro-choice, and had heard that abortion was to be a topic of discussion. But I did watch and I thought he handled the questions very well, without offending anyone. Not me, at any rate.
I still feel Ron's pro- [fetal] life position is the one inconsistent element in his belief system, but we can work on that after we elect him president. [grin] No one is perfect, but Ron is the closest to a perfect choice for president I have seen in my lifetime... and I am 74!

Remember guys, there are a lot of pro lifers out there watching the View, and they may not have heard Paul before until then. Even pro choicers got to hear his stance.
Obviously it would have been better to cover other or more issues, but even a little exposure can go a long way.

stock up!!!
RON PAUL cards??? Don't leave home with out them... lol
great stories
I was in Starbucks the other day, and the girl at the register asked if I would like to particpate in a raffle. I said I would, if I could talk to her about Ron Paul the presidential candidate. Her face immediately lit up, and she said, "Oh yeah, he's my favorite! I usually don't vote Republican, but he is my favorite." I then proceeded to go back out to my car, get one of my lawn signs, and give it to her which she happily received. Mind you, this was in a Vermont town that is a 15 minute drive to New Hampshire. It was yet another great Ron Paul experience, we need to keep letting people know about the Ron Paul movement that the mainstream media is determined to silence.
he's catchin' on, I'm tellin' ya!
Is there any such thing as a TV apearance that doesn't help our guy? *Maybe* the Bill O'Reilly sham. Even that, I don't know; he showed he'll take on the slime spewers and not give in, so it wasn't a total loss. But anything better than BO seems like a net gain for us. I'm happy he was on TV (ha... I meant "The View" but that show has funny initials) and hope he goes on there again. Hell, I'm not even sure he shouldn't do BO again sometime -- especially now that we know RP was right about Iran and the neocons were wrong.

"He's catching on, I'm tellin' ya!"
What a terrible commercial (my least favorite of the three NH TV spots), but this last line has been made fun of so much by our Meetup members that I'm considering printing it on a t-shirt or something just to make more fun of how silly the script was.
It'll be a catch phrase long after NH is over. ;-)
Maybe Not...
Actually, even Dr Paul's appearance with Billow Wryly showed that he can remain calm in the face of ill-mannered boorishness. EVERY appearance on TeeVee is good. In fact, it is probably the ONLY way to get elected. For too many, the best reason to vote for someone is "Ah seen him on TeeVee!"
If I ever run for office again I am seriously considering changing my name to "As Seen On Teevee."
"Televideus Vindicatus!"

SWEET!

I was at my fav bagel shop this morning
And one of the employees there noticed my RP button and exclaimed, "I saw him on the View! I'd vote for him!" So, I reached into my supply of RP buttons and handed one over. It was received with bright eyes, a warm smile and a promise to wear it everywhere with pride. :-)

GREAT stories!! I tried to tell everyone how awesome that interview was!
People need to lighten up and just realize how refreshing his presence is...he is so far from FAKE, while EVERY other candidate is seriously contrived (except maybe Tancredo, but I think it's safe to say he would have been a flop on the view...)
