By switching from taxes to peace, we will alienate the group that has taken over the Rep party and is trying to infect the Liberty movement. Our position becomes impossible to attack by Dems and the main-stream media, without causing suspicion within the Dem base. A base containing millions of people, the majority being pro-peace. War and fear are the only way this government will justify getting bigger. Take away war and fear, they will have to expose their true agenda. If we separate from the neocon trash, they will be left marginalized and exposed. Our similarities with the Dem base would open up lines of communication and help galvanize our groups. We will still have debates, but we will not be pitted against one another. Stopping the wars will instantly lift a tax burden off the American people.

We can assess the war from the tax issue, and that would be popular. We can also start the idea that Obama has proven he doesn't care about our troops so we should take them out of harm's way.

Personally, I think we should get more involved with them and teach them what liberty is all about. This country is divided enough. We have a huge diversity of opinion here on DP yet the thing we all have in common is liberty and the restoration of our Republic. Why not learn to get along with them, teach them a thing or two, and grow our movement instead of perpetuating the "Them" and "Us" dichotomy. We've been infiltrating them slowly for a while now, and we're making progress. There are more and more waking up to liberty every day. Why divide when we can bring more people over to our side.

but think peace ought to be rooted in love as well as reason. It's hard to stomach "peaceniks" when they appear rabid and vicious....the hypocrisy is very annoying and counter-productive.

Well, do what you want. I was just saying, I personally wouldn't call the Neocons "trash" even though they carelessly support genocide, and that's equivalent to cheering for the Nazis on parade.
I think that to wake them up, diplomacy is still viable, and reflects better on us than petty namecalling.

and that's what my focus has been on, not you personally, since I don't know you whatsoever and would have nothing to say. Ron Paul converted me, a former Neocon, by his diplomacy, not by calling me "trash" and shaming me out of my wrong opinions. I think it's good to follow his example.
As for Jesus throwing the tables, his anger was directed at the tables. The marketing. If you are intent on copying Jesus exactly, why don't you go to a Neocon convention and throw THEIR tables? And Jesus didn't call people trash, he called them other names, "den of vipers" and so on. If you want to use Jesus language precisely, you better get your Bible out.

and it provides us some protection from the folks that need us to be violent, anti-government, etc. This needs to happen. We don't really have a choice. If we stay on this path, the neocon's and the potentially violent kooks, will bring us down. Adopting a real Pro-Peace message accomplishes several of our goals. We need to do this, soon.
