Confirmed! Comply with Pelosi Health Care Bill Or Go To Prison
Today, Ranking Member of the House Ways and Means Committee Dave Camp (R-MI) released a letter from the non-partisan Joint Committee on Taxation (JCT) confirming that the failure to comply with the individual mandate to buy health insurance contained in the Pelosi health care bill (H.R. 3962, as amended) could land people in jail. The JCT letter makes clear that Americans who do not maintain “acceptable health insurance coverage” and who choose not to pay the bill’s new individual mandate tax (generally 2.5% of income), are subject to numerous civil and criminal penalties, including criminal fines of up to $250,000 and imprisonment of up to five years.
n response to the JCT letter, Camp said: “This is the ultimate example of the Democrats’ command-and-control style of governing – buy what we tell you or go to jail. It is outrageous and it should be stopped immediately.”
Key excerpts from the JCT letter appear below:
“H.R. 3962 provides that an individual (or a husband and wife in the case of a joint return) who does not, at any time during the taxable year, maintain acceptable health insurance coverage for himself or herself and each of his or her qualifying children is subject to an additional tax.” [page 1]

The Last Straw?
What is worse is they are tying it to income tax. So the health care bill is designed to scrounge up all those who are not on the IRS tax roles. Many people simply can't afford health insurance so are they all going to jail? How about all those new found IRS freedom people? Will they all go to jail? If this bill passes and gets implemented there will be instantly millions of newly created criminals to be rounded up.... Who is Congress serving since it is obviously not us? Me thinks this bill, if passed, will be the proverbial last straw for many folks.

Queen Pelosi, a millionaire, who flies private jet on my dime and has the best health insurance and medical services in the world (also on my dime) is going to make me pay a tax if I can't afford to buy health insurance which will probably cost me more due to government interference in this market. Just talked to the my congresswoman's office,
and he said she has read the bill all the way through. Then I asked about these different discussing jail time and fines and said he was unaware. I asked if she was and he didn't have an answer. Either she didn't read the bill or she is evil.

Some of the health care
mandate has already passed. It was included in the stimulus bill earlier this year. I don't know all the details but yesterday on the online 12 hour broadcast the Republicans held, it was discussed at one point. I had to leave and was unable to listen to all of it.
