Soldier died in Afghanistan yesterday.
Submitted by P. Nicholson on Sat, 11/07/2009 - 23:28I remember my mother talking about Vietnam and how she didnt really think about it much until a high school senior she knew died.
Working outside of two military training bases I knew that it would eventually hit close to home.
Yesterday a soldier was on a search mission, kicked in a door and was shot and killed. He was very close to my co-worker and my buddy is pretty torn up. No children, survived by his wife and parents. A stand up guy...
Im sick and fucking tired of this pointless, useless, wealth and youth draining war. HOW DO WE WIN???
If you met the 18 yr. old recruits, like I do every single day, it would cause you to wonder why the hell we are over there... because if an armed foreign person kicked in my door I would protect my family too. Its a vicious cycle and Im sick of it.
Support these troops by BRINGING THEM HOME.

Many Americans
support wars so easily because they never experienced it on their own skin. It is easy to send someone to spread democracy across the world in form of napalm, then relax and watch destruction on television as, of course, “we need to have job done.” If the same people would have to worry every single day about waking up to see their own family members being slaughtered, daughters raped, and homes burned, they would think twice about how their individual voice factors in “public opinion.” Those of us who lived through such experience definitely think twice about wars and their impact on all of us.
Thanks for posting, P.
And very good point. "...if an armed foreign person kicked in my door I would protect my family too."
I hear you.
For me it is all of those pics and vids of children clinging to their daddies as their daddies go off to war. It makes me sick.
