Is it time for Civil Disobedience yet?
I'm sorry people, but we're probably never going to be able to "educate" enough of the American population to vote out all of the bad guys and put in all of the good guys to get us back to Constitutional Government. That is pie in the sky, wishful thinking.
Now, while I love the idea of educating our fellow citizens, I believe that isn't enough. It's going to take some real brave action on our part. I'm not advocating violence, but instead peaceful resistance.
The problem is that we're still thinking old school. We're still playing by the establishment's rules. We need to start playing by OUR rules and live like free individuals, to hell with the consequences.
There are enough hardcore Paulites/libertarians/Constutionalists/Anarchists to get our way. They cannot arrest all of us, and the more we disobey, the more people we'll get to disobey with us.
We've got the greatest tool the freedom movement could every hope for; the internet. Let's start utilizing it for real and get serious! I wish Michael would put this up on the front page. We, as a community, need to have a real solid discussion about Civil Disobedience, and how to execute it. I believe we can do it. I believe we must do it. And I believe the better coordinated we are, the more effective it will be.

or 10 or 20000 of their cars, and the freedom lovers just left them there, and there was a message spelled out by a large tarp with writing on it or what have you, that when seen from the sky said something that would inspire all to wake up. You know how long it would take to remove 10000 cars from the road, it would take 10000 tow trucks, it would lock down a major city for at least a day. Only problem might be if somebody needed to pass in an ambulance, so emergency lane would have to be left open so they couldn't charge those patriots for negligent homicide.

Think back on the times of the American Revolution. There were those who believed that all they had to do to get back the sovereign rights of the colonists was ask for proper representation in Parliament and ask for the repeal of unjust laws. Remember the Olive Branch Petition?
Thomas Jefferson and Benjamin Franklin both worked hard to reassert the rights of the colonists as British citizens, then decided abruptly--within the span of only a few years--that this solution would not work. And this probably reflects on the feelings of many ordinary citizens of the time as well...many of the older ones who fought in the American Revolution had also fought alongside the British in the French and Indian Wars. Clearly, something had happened to radically change their minds.
Take a look at what passed tonight. Yes, many say that the Democrats will pay in 2010. But if nationalized health care passes the full Congress, 2010 is not going to undo it. When do we decide that enough is enough?
