Lieberman is the one we need to send letters to.....
I believe if enough people send letters to Joe Lieberman asking not to support the Health care bill he may fillibuster. Here are a couple of write ups on the subject:

Lieberman’s threat of filibuster looms large, Joe Lieberman might side with Republicans:

I had pretty much given up on writing letters to any of these politicians, especially since every letter I wrote to Senator Boxer was answered back with "the American people don't know what is best for them". I can't wait to vote against that corrupt witch Boxer, and yes I have told her so after receiving her replies.
I am mad as hell, and not going to take it anymore!!!!

My sis-in-law's nephew
is LIEberman's aide. I wish I could say I had some way to speak to him, but after a few holidays together, he has decided to stay away from this end of the family. We weren't nice.
I'll see if I can get his personal email anyway....nothing to lose.

Right on, and thank you dear Aphrodite13
This would be great if you can get this for us.
Anyone that has read the Health Care bill.
Is it or is it not exclusively for the US Territories ? Please explain here ?
US Territories being Guam, Puerto Rico, District of Columbia, American Samoa, Us Virgin Islands, Northern Mariana Islands, Minor outlying islands.
Just spoke with a friend (he's brilliant) and he said these territories were all this health bill covered ?
Just one last kick in the nuts, then a final deathblow
Same language as used in the tax code but....
it is enforced in all the States anyway....Go figure..Go ask Wesley Snipes how that is working out for him as he sits in Prison..If your friend is so brilliant why isn't he helping those imprisoned for this crap. The people of this country are under siege, and we have the opportunity to take it back now, or forever lose this country to the powers that be.
Let me clarify
I'm not pro I'm against, vehemently against any form of socialized healthcare.
It is another knife into the back of the republic, integrity, hard work, can do,
independence..etc. This socialist health bill is just another socialist toll to use to ultimately take over the country. Call the Senate and tell them no go, if they pass it, we might need that revolution that Thomas Jefferson described.
Just one last kick in the nuts, then a final deathblow
Just a quick thank you to...
Michael, or the Moderator that posted this on the front page. I do think it is important.
Ha ha ha... what a joke!
He only cares if his bosses care, and I don't really think they care about it in Israel.
If you really wanted to do something about Lieberman you would show up at all his public acts with placards asking Israel to ask Lieberman to help us.
He has only one boss, it is Israel, not the American people.

I addressed mine to the Zionist Elmer Fudd Esq.
Maybe it will get read.
Cool, I personally do not care who you send it to...
as long as the person receiving it that has voting rights says "NO" period to any type of health care that is government funded, especially after we have Social Security, and Medical/Medicade that does such a fine job, lol....
It's not a joke...
Think out of your little box...
The interns will need to fill two recycling bins before
Stuffing all the form letter replies. This will keep at least 3 teenagers busy for a couple days. Maybe one of them will mention it to Lieberman if they happen to see him sometime.

Okay dear MikeLawson...
I get your point. As I had stated in my original post I had given up writing to these politicians, so what are your thoughts? What can we do to avoid this massive growth of government?
We could occupy the senate and refuse to leave
Make it impossible for them some way. Writing letters is useless as you know already. But it's a lot easier than getting people to show up (unless you're Glenn Beck and Sean Hannity, but they'll never do it). Honestly, I don't think there's anything we can do short of actually doing something. If they decide to do it, it's done; our thoughts matter not. If we decide they won't AND STOP THEM then our thoughts matter a lot.

Okay Mike so...
When are you, and I, along with all the others going to the Senate to have a sit in, and have our sorry little asses put in jail???? Give me the day, time, and location, and I will be there, I bet we will have only a hand full.
contacted him first thing
this morning. We need to make sure he stays stalwart in his opposition

Betamale...
thank you, hopefully this will help, and this Bill will go down in blaze.
Hey Tess.....
Sorry if my previous post came off the wrong way, I'm not bashing your attempts for a call to action. I just wanted to point out the strategy that Pelosi and the Dems will use to pass this bill in the Senate is called the reconciliation process and Libermann is fully aware of this and simply trying to make himself look as if he is fighting on behalf of the people. He is not.
"Reconciliation is a fast-track legislative process that allows a bill to pass the Senate in a limited time period, and with the support of only 51 Senators. A “normal” Senate bill can be slowed down by a single Senator, and blocked by 41 Senators. This is not true for a reconciliation bill."

Kinsjon apology accepted...
Thank you for sharing your information...
Your welcome Tess....
and just for the record, I send emails, make phone calls and even send snail mail every week. It's been a ritual for a few years now, but as others have pointed out, it has done little. It has become quite clear, congress no longer represents the wishes of the people. It is so sad to come to terms with the fact that 545 plus a president make the decisions which will effect 300 million even when the majority disagree. I think Pelosi pretty much summed up the mental limitations of our selected leaders when she claimed 219 democrats and 1 republican yea vote equates bipartisanship.
Kinsjon..
Hugs to you dear heart. I only wish we could really change things, but we are in the minority, and by that I mean, those that have actually read the Constitution, and really know what our Congress has the authority to do. They do not have the authority to dictate on whether Americans must have health insurance or any thing else for that matter. Our Congress has out-stepped it's bounds completely.
sending letters
A person would have to be an absolute idiot if they thought that writing and sending a letter to anyone in Congress would have any effect on national affairs.
The US Post Office might appreciate it, for the same reason they appreciate businesses that send us junk mail.
Your letter has the value of a stamp and nothing more.
I totally disagree with you:
I totally disagree with you: see HR 1207. I do agree that sending letters to the most sold out politicians like Joe Lieberman is a waste of time, though.
Ventura 2012
see HR 1207???
OK? What about it? It just got deflated and many of the co-sponsors are off-the-hook.
you can drop tons of mail on Mel Watt and Mr. Watt will continue serving his banks!
huckleberry, I am not an idiot as you suggest....
and I take offense to your comment. I am trying to be level headed, and take the higher road verses to turning to violence in order to be heard by our government. Please tell me what do you suggest we do, or try?
one idea, short of immediate violence
Refuse to use dollars. Refuse to accept them, and refuse to provide them. The circulation of dollars is the lifeblood of this corrupt system.
I don't know if this will make any sense...but I don't think you're an idiot. Not personally. I can't imagine ever singling out a particular person and insulting them. However, anyone who really thinks writing a letter will make a lick of difference is an idiot. A person is an idiot when they can't accurately see the relationship between cause and effect.
Cause: write a letter to Joe L
Effect: diddly-freaking-squat
(Just in case you need some help in the cause and effect department.)
Huckleberry, what currency do you use?
I sure would like to know, please don't tell me bartering is what you do, that only works for a few things. I think I will stay with my original idea, and write Lieberman anyway. Oh, and thank you for saying you did not think I was an idiot, that made me feel sooooo... much better. Hope you have stocked up on gold, and silver. Remember, We The People will prevail.
elbow grease and sunshine
The majority of people living on the American continent at the time of the revolution for independence:
"Take arms against the British? No, not me. I might get killed, and besides, I have bills to pay, and I still have 5 years to go on my indentured servitude."
So mr./ms. Elbow gease and sunshine...
what have you contributed to making things better lately Mr. 5 weeks and a few days on Daily Paul??? Other than beating up Ron Paul supporters here?
In plain english for those of us that are idiots..
What currency do you recommend???
Unless you're a hermit and don't have any
bills to pay, I hardly see how this strategy is practical.
