Considering that this is all about the participation in a process of evolution of consciousness, there is a great danger of people believing that the Mayan calendar is about a singular date when some event will take place, whether this is made up to be a pole shift, galactic alignment, Planet X, end of the world or shift in consciousness. This is an incredibly naïve view of an essentially superstitious nature where a new world is believed to simply fall down upon the human beings from the sky without their active and conscious participation in the processes leading up to a state of unity consciousness. In reality, there is overwhelming evidence that the Mayan calendar describes sequential shifts in consciousness, which will begin to be experienced at an even higher frequency after July 17, 2010 and even more markedly so after the beginning of the actual Universal Wave Movement on March 8, 2011. Only at October 28, 2011 will the shifts come to an end and a unity consciousness stabilize that will provide the basis for a millennium of peace.

Celeste, Please don't get dragged in
to one line of thinking. Yes I have read that Maitreya in supposedly the new World Teacher... The only way to find what is right is to look inward. With all of the studying I have done, both Biblical and new age you can believe neither. It only comes from within yourself. Look for no teachers. Look for no one to give you the answer. The reason I tell you this is, NO ONE can help you. It must be within you. I know you are a good person and hopefully not be led astray.
Just as any preacher, politician can lead an individual astray so can any new age group of so called prophets.
I hope you take everything I am writing in the right way for it is all given with love and wanting everyone to come out of this coming change as best as possible. The battle has been won but now we must fight it here. Some will survive and some won't. There will be battles, natural disasters, pandemics(plague) hurting or killing substantial numbers on this planet. The thing to remember is this planet is cleansing it's self. This is a necessary thing.
Don't look for a savior for that savior is you. This is all said with love and hopefully taken in the right way. The world is NOT coming to an end. It is just changing and will be better when it is over. I say this and do what I must for my children. That means all of you.

I spoke to our Tulku Rimpoche (Tibetan Buddhist re-incarnated
lama) about 'Maitreya' and he clearly shook his head and didn't understand what this was. It doesn't have anything to do with their teachings.
Just a week earlier at the Buddhist monastery there was a Maitreya exhibition with all these 'idols' etc. It was clearly being run by white people in the 'new age' community. The marketing was just mind blowing. Tibetan Buddhists never never advertise or market anything. People come to them for teaching.
This is the new age one world religion. They are busy fund raising millions of dollars to build a 'statue' 500 feet' high that will house relics in each area of the chakras. Forgot where this is being built. Is it India or here in the States.
I went to see it out of curiosity. For me it felt fraudulent and had to leave, but to someone else it will mean something very special to them. Who am I to say. It doesn't speak to me. That doesn't make it right or wrong.
The age of Aquarius is the time when personal responsibility of each soul and where it leads is apparently the 'theme' of this next 2,150 year cycle that actually started in 1888.

On one side of that debate, he/she fills in the vacancy in Buddism that every other religion has filled.... so it may be a truth.
On the other hand, it is being used to DEATH lately as a way for people to make money.....lol.
However, if you scrape the parasites off of most modern religions, there isn't much left at all, is there?
Maybe Maitreya will be Pahana from the West holding hands with Jesus as the lion.. who knows.

i wouldn't go as far as saying tibetans do not market or advertise anything. i lived in dharamsala for a while, and they do market and advertise very well. not many of the typical maitreya deities, because the deity is chinese. i also think the new age stuff is very good for reaching all those it wouldn't normally reach before. yoga "studios", books, etc.

The Tibetans had nothing to do with it. The organizers got the Dali Lama to 'endorse' it and it is hard to say if he was actually taken out of context. His own Buddhist monks know nothing about this stuff.
Maitreya is one of the Buddhist deities that is true, but they certainly don't entertain any meshiach cults.
Of course Tibetan communities sell their goods but it is very low key. This Maitreya had big big bucks behind it.
Like I said it didn't do anything for me personally except cause me to be very cautious and careful.

The Age of Leo (11,000 BC to 8600 BC) is notable for being the first age since the last ice age...the Leo (Sun) thawed the last ice age.
The Age of Cancer (8600 to 6400 BC) was basically the birth of civilization...including birth to the mother goddess...nuturing the world.
The Age of Gemini (roughy 6400 to 4300 BC) During this age writing developed, and trade started to accelerate. Thus, multiple gods were created, such as the pantheon of gods in Ancient Greek literature
The Age of Taurus (roughly 4300 to 2150 BC) is notable for the building of the pyramids, during the Old Kingdom of Egypt and the Middle Kingdom of Egypt. Gods were harnessed to create divine rulers...of which we still have today (e.g., the Queen of England). In fact, it is commonly accepted that the bloodline of pharohs is still alive and protected in many rulers today. The satanic signs that rulers throw is believed by many to be a sign of the bull (Taurus), and respective bull-like gods, Bael.
The Age of Aries (2150 BC to 0) ushered in efforts to replace polytheism with monotheism....started by some Pharohs to corner the market on the Gods...but it ended with Judaism due to better marketing.
The Age of Pises (0 to 2150 AD) ushered in Christianity and Islam...spin-offs of Judaism making the one God for all.
The Age of Aquarius (just starting or coming up) will also usher in a new spiritual age...probably no marketing of false understanding of god...a true theistic understanding. You can see lots of this already in New Age belief systems. This group enlightenment comes about due to widespread of knowledge via technology. The illumaniti probably best fits in here. It is kinda sad that they have been oppressed for so long.
Today, leaders have to nod to the global warming crowd (Leo), patronize environmentalist zealots (Cancer), be able to recite greek classics (Gemini), bow before pharoh blood lines (Aries), flash bull signs (Taurus), wear a Yamika (Aries), observe Christmas (Pises), and silently wait for the truth to come out (Aquarius).

2012 is just the zenith when all planets align with the center
of the milky way. We are feeling the full affects in these last years as it intensifies.
Maybe it doesn't mean a darn thing to you.
But to those of us who have noticed things going on for the last 20 something years now, I think its pretty sure right on. This will continue until there is critical mass of intensity when all is 'purified'.
Then there is the 're-building' period.
Those of us who took notice, have already been experiencing all that has been foretold via various tribes around the globe.
Apparently it could have been a lot worse, but there seems to be a 'critical mass' of souls now on the planet who are very loving people. This has helped stabilize and cushion what should have otherwise been a complete collapse.
This planetary alignment happens once every 26,520 years I believe that number is about right. However each time there is an alignment like this it is slightly different allowing for the precession of the equinoxes and the fact that it is just not circular but spiraling
Don't know how true this is, but our entire solar system has entered what is known as the 'photon belt'. It is the minutest particle of light very refined light. So its different this time around so the 'love' energy is intensifying creating a cleanse.

I am with you on that one.
According to astrologers/astronomers that is what is being said should be taking place.
Imagine all the planets in orbit around the sun. Supposedly, come December 21, 2012 we will have all the planets including the sun in a straight line and because of the 'timing' of their individual orbits, this straight line of planets in our galaxy will be in line with the middle of the Milky Way.
But it can't happen
We don't orbit in the galactic plane.
So, no matter where the planets are in the ecliptic, they can never align with the galactic.
