Interesting re: the victims of "Fort Hood shooter"
I haven't really paid much attention to the event so I could be missing some info, but it's interesting that at least 6 of the victims were from his own unit.
The Wisconsin State Journal reports that 6 Wisconsin based reservists were among those shot and 2 killed in the shooting at Fort Hood:
Five of the six Wisconsin soldiers were members of the 467th Medical Detachment, which is based at ... in Madison and was to be deployed to Afghanistan - reportedly with the alleged shooter, Maj. Nidal Malik Hasan an Army psychiatrist and American-born Muslim, attached to serve with the unit. http://host.madison.com/wsj/news/state_and_regional/article_...
From another article:
http://host.madison.com/wsj/news/local/article_ebc2e500-cb0b...
The 467th Medical Detachment is one of about eight Army Reserve combat-stress units around the country ...
Such combat-stress units are deployed to combat zones often close to the fighting to work with soldiers experiencing stress...
The goal of the units is to prevent and treat stress quickly on site, Alesch said. "If it's treated correctly, people can return to duty," he said. "The philosophy we took was you don't take them out and put them in a hospital. You don't treat them like a patient. You get 'em out of the line of fire for two or three days."

Maybe it's not so interesting...
or maybe it's common knowledge. I posted this kinda late last night so I'll give it one bump for the day crew.
