How Would You Fix the Economy?"

This is from an article in the St. Petersburg, FL Times Newspaper on Sunday.
The Business Section asked readers for ideas on "How Would You Fix the Economy?"
I think this guy nailed it!

Dear Mr. President:
Please find below my suggestion for fixing America 's economy.
Instead of giving billions of dollars to companies that will squander the money on lavish parties and unearned bonuses, use the following plan.
You can call it the Patriotic Retirement Plan:
There are about 40 million people over 50 in the work force.
Pay them $1 million apiece severance for early retirement with the following stipulations:
1) They MUST retire. Forty million job openings -
Unemployment fixed.

2) They MUST buy a new American CAR. Forty million cars ordered-
Auto Industry fixed.

3) They MUST either buy a house or pay off their mortgage-
Housing Crisis fixed.

It can't get any easier than that!
If more money is needed, have all members of Congress and their constituents pay their taxes...
If you think this would work, please forward to everyone you know.

If not, please disregard. Then shoot yourself!!!! 1 job opening
I would gladly do my part. :)

I would put the whole Congress

except Dr. Paul and the Supreme Court and the Executive Branch on trial for TREASON. Find them guilty and confiscate everything they own to help pay off the national debt. Then I would go after the FED and the Military industrial complex and do the same thing. When I was sure we got all the bums out I would close down the government and go home. LOL

Economic illiteracy. This

Economic illiteracy. This 'Patriotic Retirement Plan' is classic in its prosperity-through-coercion flavor, a sentiment shared by most of America because they don't understand economics. And not Mises and anything to do with central banking, they don't even understand Adam Smith and the foundation of free enterprise. There are dozens of things wrong with this suggestion.

The first 5 million supporters of Dr. Paul are 'early adopters.' The next 10 million will require a modified approach.

1st.. bring all troops home

1st.. bring all troops home and close every foreign military base.
sell all federal lands to raise money. abolish the income tax and the IRS..
abolish the dept of labor, education, energy, etc etc. stop all foreign aid.

Hey,B-K that`s my plan. It`s the only one that will work 100%.

Simple.

Eliminate the federal reserve and follow the Constitution which makes only gold and silver coins legal tender. Eliminate the federal income tax. Eliminate 95% of state and federal regulations.

Eliminate 95% of federal and state government spending and let the cards fall where they may.

Less government intervention = more loan sharks

Thus foolish people will always be in debt. The more in debt, the more screwed up the nation will become.

The founders warned us against this time and again. They prescribed a strong anti-usury culture...not regulations, mind you...but a strong moral culture that included wise personal finance.

Also, this culture included the rugged individual and the entreprenuer. Both of which create strong communities that work together to ward off usurists, drug dealers, etc.

This culture has been replaced with hyper-consumerism and hyper-employeeism (working for others).

Either reverse this or we need more government intervention to protect the fools.
