Fox News's Sean Hannity Caught Falsifying Footage

Jon Stewart Catches Sean Hannity Falsifying Footage To Make GOP Protest Appear Bigger (VIDEO)

The tea party protests continued last week, as Congresswoman Michele Bachmann held an anti-health-care-reform rally on the steps of the Capitol. While she estimated that 20,000-45,000 people attended the event, the Washington Post reported it was actually more like 10,000.

Still, that is a sizable number of Americans exercising their right to free speech and assembly, and that warrants news coverage. But Sean Hannity and his team did more than cover the event. They not only inflated the number in attendance with their words, but actually used footage from a heavily-attended protest this summer to make this health care rally appear more popular. Hannity even pointed out that this was a huge crowd for a Thursday, when the protest footage they used was from a Saturday.

Jon Stewart and his team caught this discrepancy and ran with it, pointing out neither the color of the leaves nor sky in the tacked-on video matched that of the actual footage. They went on to mock Fox by adding more video to the interview, this time from Woodstock and the movie "300."

Short, to the point

And most importantly, highly accurate!
And you didn't even have to falsify any video!

Fox News is Pathetic

Just pathetic.

All art is only done by the individual. The individual is all you ever have, and all schools only serve to classify their members as failures. E.H.

The funniest clip I've seen though

Was when, I believe it was MSNBC, was accusing those attending the tea-parties as racists, and were saying that only racists would bring a gun to such an event given the history of america, but if they had let the video run a few seconds longer, it would have shown that the guy with the gun was african-american.

It doesn't surprise me at all.

The leftist media on the other channels have been doing the same thing for decades.

"News" has changed from "news" to "advocacy reporting", and that happened a long time ago.
Now, ALL "news" is completely gorged with opinions and slants, designed to promote certain agenda positions favored by the "news outlet".

Still locked in the paradigm?

My opinion is that the MSM networks and their corresponding newspapers are designed to work with different personality types. MSNBC is for those who think they are intellectuals, and are intelligent, but highly emotional and who like to belong to groups. FOX is for those who are idealistic and strong, but also authoritarian and easily manipulated (which is why it is popular with the Mega-church born-againer types). CNN is for the philosophers and planners who never actually make a decision and are careful with emotions and CNN makes them feel like they are getting both sides.

It's just a theory, and I don't know enough about personality types. But, as every Ron Pauler knows, all of the big 5 MSM companies put out the same propaganda and material, they just do it in a different way. So, that's the only thing that makes sense to me. There are always exceptions, like the Judge on FOX (albeit relegated to the internet). And, I'm sure DP is full of people of all different types - the difference being we have awoken to see the manipulation as part of reality.

So, I don't know if it is so much that "left-wing" media has been doing it for a long time (as we all know FOX is full of Neocon doublethink and the Neocons are actually communist) - but that all media uses techniques to influence the people they are programmed to communicate with. Just my thought....

"In the beginning of a change the patriot is a scarce man, and brave, and hated and scorned. When his cause succeeds, the timid join him, for then it costs nothing to be a patriot."--Mark Twain

Absolutely correct Mohusk

An illusion of partisanship must be maintained. Additionally, the "News" has steadily moved from relatively dry reporting of (debatable) facts to being strongly geared toward eliciting emotionalism. Anyones rationality is reduced when emotional.

What is more logical:

The controllers of the Mega Corps that control the Mega megaphones have interests more in common with each other than with the masses that consume their product.

or

The opposite.

Even without some well developed conspiracy to manipulate the masses in a direction that serves the common interests of Mega Megaphone Titans, over time, in small ways at a minimum, that temptation will not be avoided enough to avoid having that kind of impact.

That is the kind, best case, view.

To me, it is clearly an elaborate, mass manipulation, stage show using all the best techniques Hollywood can muster.

On average, throughout history, do those that go to great effort and expense to gain immense power, do so for completely selfless reasons?
