What is motivating the most recent Sy Hersh sources? (article)

I think deep down Hersh believes he is getting the truth, and that is why he publishes his stories with no named sources. However it may be likely that they are feeding him propaganda on both sides.

who broke the story of the My Lai Massacre all the way back during the Vietnam war. Since then he's broke a bunch of big stories, mostly because he has a lot of top unnamed sources in the Pentagon. He's probably the top investigative journalist in the country.

Hersh is one shrewd fellow

What are your thoughts on Hersh? In the article it talks about how the Pentagon uses him to leak information to gauge public opinion towards their crazy antics, I think that sounds about right.
