Let's End the Wars!
Hello Everyone,
As Dr. Paul often points out, we can’t begin to change the way our government operates until we change our foreign policy. More than any other reason, I support Ron Paul because of his noninterventionist position of peace. Furthermore, I’m saddened by the Obama administration’s willingness to escalate the wars in the Middle East—perpetual wars for perpetual peace. While focusing on HR 1207, healthcare reform, and other domestic issues are important—it all begins with changing our foreign policy. I think we--the DailyPaul community--should take up this issue more forcefully. Let’s use our grassroots network to focus on this goal. Let’s use our collective energy to demand an end to the occupations of Iraq and Afghanistan. Let’s demand peace, and let’s demand it now!

I can't agree more!
Yes, we should ALSO focus on the whole war, peace & imperalism topic!

Exactly how idiotic is it to
Exactly how idiotic is it to go along with this saying " I don't believe in the war but we need to support our troops?
Call your representatives!
I'm calling my congressman everyday and asking him to end the wars in Afghanistan and Iraq. I encourage you to do the same. Look at how far we've come with HR 1207! Let's combine our energies to End the Wars!

Also!!! Call your local
Also!!! Call your local high school senior's and ask him or her to end the ( illegal ones) wars!
It would be easier than trying to close the fed
I think you could build a real coalition if you just focused on ending war. Then take the antiwar movement after the fed once the wars have ended. Neither one will happen over night but anti-war might be the easiest one to get massive amounts of people involved.
Casulaties: The Living Dead
As if 1 soldier's or civilian's death were not enough to dub any war "costly", we too easily forget the meaning of 'casualty of war' as we're told that the death toll in Afghanistan, Iraq, and Pakistan is "relatively, or comparatively, mild":

I refused to join any military
No soldiers = no wars
Remember Lieutenant Dan from Forrest Gump? Well, I too come from a long line of soldiers. When I chose not to join the military, I was pretty much ostracized from the male side of the family for twenty years. Only recently have I been rubbing elbows with them.
I still piss them off every once in a while when I accidently talk honestly about the imperialistic uses the US military. When they bother to discuss it, I simply nail them with their own truths about what the US military has done and is doing.
Frankly, I would prefer if they...or our government...came clean about our conquering ways. However, since most people are not oligarithists, the government deceives there true nature...and I can't stand that.
Anyway, I know the slogan 'no soldiers = no wars' is pretty naive, but really if all people refused to do anything violent, the vast majority of the problems of the human species would be solved.
Be the change you want to see in the world. ~Gandhi
would not the wars have to
would not the wars have to stop if men and women would just simply stop enlisting?
the make up
the poor and the lower class.....the military is an escape and a chance at a better life. easy to say don't enlist when you have the financial means not too.....i seriously doubt many military recruiters are hanging around martha's vineyard.

Good luck
figure out a way to make Peace profitable and you won't have anymore wars. Until then.....forget about it......WAR is profitable....if there is peace no one is buying bombs and guns and tanks and subs and on and on and on.......if there isn't a WAR they will make one..........count on it.

Check out my card idea
I will be finishing this up this afternoon. If anyone wants, I will try to email you a copy to use.
I have a lovely wintery scene, a snow covered creek where a hot spring spills into it. In big red print it says
"Best Wishes for Peace On Earth"
the inside will say
"Has not worked since Christ was born. This year, demand it.
Please contact your Congressman every day in 2010 at

and demand they bring the troops home now.
(Imagine what all those troops coming home and spending their checks here and buying homes here would do for the economy.)
Bonus points if you contact your Senator too

Truth exists, and it deserves to be cherished.
Whoa
that is deep.
maybe even put a picture of a soldier coming through the door to his/her family on Christmas on the inside
Great idea, Furlough!
I may try to do that.
Truth exists, and it deserves to be cherished.
without the Fed
we can finance no wars. They would have to come get the money from you, which you would then deny them their tax and we could end the wars that way.
And yes, foreign policy is issue number one.
Kill the Fed so we can stop killing
There are different kinds of people
Some get the practical thing, and the Fed reverberates with them. Some will respond more readily to the emotional pull of an antiwar effort. We have to find our commonalities and support each other when and where we can.
Truth exists, and it deserves to be cherished.
yes
I have seen so many eyes glaze over when I mention the Fed. It depends on who you are talking to
Foreign Policy First
Indeed, the United States' domestic policy is a reflection of their foreign policy: elitist, violent, despicable || arrogant, aggressive, abominable
