16 Reasons to support the BLIMP!!!!! You Decide!!!!!!!

1. $350K will get us the first ever presidential Blimp
2. Blimp will bring in more then $1mm* in free advertising. (Media, nightly news, internet news, opinions, visibility etc...)
3 Potential voters will know RP supporters are serious about getting RP's message out.
4. The ron Paul Blimp will have the flexibility to fly where needed/when needed without returning home every night.
5. If it wasn't for Trevor, Ron Paul 2008 donations would be $4.3mm less then it is now. (Don't we atleast owe Trevor the trust and respect on this project?)
6. We pledged for this Blimp, we should be true to our word.
7. Having a blimp in the air will motiviate ground supporters even more.
8. Every Blimp launch is a reason to have a pre-rally party.
9. How fun would it be to see other candidates campaigning on foot or in an outdoor forum while the RP blimp is overhead. Blimp would gather more media attention then the candidates themselves.
10. The blimp staff has offered to show the blimp project financials.
11. The blimp is a NEW idea and will inable potential supporters to do their own research vs. if we spent this money on a RP commercial. This is another advertising avenue that will conincide with the RP campaign advertisment.
12. If we spend $350,000 on a blimp and come up $350,000 short on the teaparty, this will not have a big impact on the outcome of the Teaparty. (will not make a difference if the MSM reports the teapart raised $7.45mm or $7.8mm, both would be a success) I do not think the Blimp will take alot from the Teaparty anyway.
13. You cannot compare Trinidad Tobago to the US. A cup of coffee cost $3.00 in the US and $.10 in Trinidad. You get the point.
14. BrainStuff.com though RP is getting a great deal on this blimp. Aslo a video of the Goodyear taking off. http://brainstuff.howstuffworks.com/2007/11/30/how-renting-a...
15. The Blimp will be at the Tea Party.
16. The teaparty will be successful.

Any thoughts?

Make your own Ron Paul Blimp for special events!

On December 6th, 2007 DelafieldGuy says:
Buy one of several Blimp / Airship Kits available online. Stay away from the UFO style, get the one that looks like the Goodyear blimp:
http://tinyurl.com/2tmzzs or http://tinyurl.com/3cr245

If your Balloon looks like a UFO or it is silver, has writing on it and it is not white then buy the replacement (blank) white balloon:
http://tinyurl.com/3x865v - Note how the edges are curved?

Get a Helium tank from your local carbonated beverages supplier, or have it filled at one of those 'party' stores. Try to stay away from hydrogen gas for your airship unless you are working on becoming a homegrown terrorist (the horror! the horror!) - Ron Paul is all about PEACE so BEST you buy a disposable HELIUM Tank for safety:
http://tinyurl.com/3dmau7

Go to Fast Signs or Signs Now and for about $30 so they can probably cut out "Ron Paul for President" Stickers on very thin light-weight vinyl.

Final steps: Fill the Balloon with Helium THEN apply the stickers slowly & carefully. The Sign shop may be able to assist if you are inexperienced in laying vinyl. * The key to proper application of your stickers is to make sure the stickers are not too large (they should fill the center smooth area and not touch the curved area) so MEASURE CAREFULLY! *

Marketing Notes: Please get the "Ron Paul for President" slogan (perhaps with a small RonPaul2008.com underneath this) in the official campaign-style / yard sign colors & font.... That "who-is RP" slogan is soooo pre 11-05 - we should assume people now know who he is!

There - you have your very own Ron Paul dirigible!

Just donated again

lets do it .

What will the blimp do in New Hampshire?

The blimp is very social. It wants to get its picture taken with every candidate in the race, and will be attending a lot of their functions.

Teaparty07.com banner on the blimp

Katharine,

Never got a reply, or maybe I missed it. If the blimp does launch on time, and I assume it will, could it trail a banner reading "www.teaparty07.com" on its way to Boston?

That might help in terms of people worrying about competition between blimp and teaparty donations.

After Boston, you could change it out with a banner (the kind that the biplanes pull) reading www.ronpaul2008.com

Although this may be a problem with the lawyers :-(
