If indeed he wants to continue network tv journalism it would be great to see him on one of the secondary networks where he would have much more freedom to tackle critical issues, maybe even do a back to back hour long tag team with someone like Phil Donahue etc.

I read somewhere that CNN gave Dobbs an ultimatum: Either stick with "unbiased" reporting on the TV show, or hit the trail. He chose the latter.
Lou should start a new News Network
If anyone could pull that off it would be Lou Dobbs. I'm sure he could get some investors in the project. Imagine a no-nonsense news network that actually investigated and reported REAL news. The public is starving for that. He could pull the best and the brightest from the blogosphere, internet reporters, radio shows and print and form a real alternative to the biased controlled media. One with old fashioned journalistic ethic. It's time for a new media watchdog. The one we have now gets too distracted by the sausages the thieves throw at it to do any good.

Can't stand when left
Can't stand when left leaning sites like NYT call people like Lou Dobbs and Ron Paul "anti-immigration", making it sound like they are opposed to legal immigration. Anti-illegal immigration would have been an honest and accuracte term to use.

the term "illegal immigration" was used...although the beginning of the article stated anti-immigration....
Maybe they're hoping many viewers suffer from ADD and will only read the first paragraph or two?? (I don't believe in the diagnosis ADD, btw)...
