Dobbs is a person friend of Ted Turner. I doubt he is being forced out. Like any rational human being when your family is threatened you do what you can to protect them. I am sure Lou feels there is a dangerous political climate in this county at the moment. Someone shot at his house just 2 weeks ago.
Reading between the lines

What Lou says is counter to the interests of the LEADERS in media, politics and business. That he cited them specifically tells us he is not being drawn toward anything, but pushed out of big media.
"Jonathan Klein, the president of CNN/U.S. said in a statement that “Lou has now decided to carry the banner of advocacy journalism elsewhere.”"
Klein hates Dobbs.
