Casey doesn't hold back too many punches! Really goes after scum-bag statists Rove and Dean.

Well

Objectively, and save for a few points, Rove completely destroyed Casey. Rove is a master at this sort of thing from back in his school days. Casey tried to debate on principle and while he may have been right, he will not win a debate through his confrontational approach.

To an unbiased listener, Rove comes across as someone with some libertarian principles who worked to reach practical compromises with those in his own party. You need a very skilled debater to represent the libertarian viewpoint when Rove misrepresents himself this way.

interesting dialogue

i really enjoyed the exchange.

now i remember why i once liked dean. wrong on all the issues, but a populist, nevertheless.

rove makes some great conservative cases, while shifting blame on the democrats for their collosal failures. a brilliant con artist who props up the false left/right paradigm like a champ.

not to miss, casey charging that rove should be in jail early in the debate, and was allowed to get the last word in at the end of the debate. it's a good one.

I vote for Tom Woods to

I vote for Tom Woods to represent libertarians next year.

I mean I understand exactly what Casey was trying to get across (the realization that contemporary politics is just a big Hegelian dialectic - and the political mountain you have to climb to convince others that their assumptions are wrong - therefore, their solutions will be wrong), but he really needs to sharpen his debate skills.

I just watched the first video, and I'm hooked! Thabks again for the post!

After watching it in its

After watching it in its entirty, it is easy for me to say that Casey really made us Libertarians look bad...He could have really been a source of good for our movement at that event, but he blew it...

Thanks for the post though...

I agree.

I agree.

Casey has a real issue with

Casey has a real issue with NOT preparing for debates. He came off very badly IMO. I can understand where his emotionalism got the better of him though, having to deal with those monsters.

Ya, there's a bunch of things

that I wish we would have done better.

Casey is a joke. They chose

Casey is a joke. They chose him to make us look bad IMO. Its not like there aren't more prominent libertarians to choose. Have you seen that old freedomfest debate on the war with Casey + Ron Paul vs Dinesh D'Souza and another guy? Ron would move the anti-war side two steps forwards, and Casey would drag it 3 steps back.

Cool

Do you follow his investing advice at all? I just came across this strategy last week. Very smart imo. I'm probably going to be implementing this.

Bump. A great debate

Bump. A great debate

Ya,
