Zimbabwe abandons its currency.

The government of Zimbabwe has finally quit pretending. They've abandoned their hopeless cycle of hyperinflation. No more currency laws or price controls:

I guess I'm glad I have that very unique $100 trillion dollar Zimbabwe note. Only cost me $14 bucks.
Zimbabwe got into this mess the same way we are now.
Their central bank bought their government debt with freshly-issued credit.

as a final cosmic morbid joke, what if they decided to go with something tied to the US dollar... ppor people would be wishing they were Job in the next few years.

Sadly, that's exactly what they're doing.
Of course, they're also using Euros and South African Rand, but the dollar's still their most popular currency at the moment.
