Would you support a Ron Paul run in the primaries if he goes with the 'usual suspects' to run his campaign?

BY ANY MEANS POSSIBLE

Even if it means teaming up with the usual suspects, Giving Ron Paul more authority to influence policy and the people who make decisions is the top priority. So I will support him no matter what it takes.

Ron Paul would still have my vote if Balloon Boy's father ran his campaign. I know something of media and fundraising and campaigns and I hope they don't 'fight the last war.' Except for Seniors, who are important, the old ways are all done. Direct mail, useless. Print ads, barely better. Larry Lepage (forgot his last name) and his $85,000 USA Today ad, not the best use of $85k. Phone calls, useless, don't waste time on phone banks, scripts and databases. If the R3VOLUTION proved anything, it was that there is a new day in fundraising, and it's on-line. Door-to-door, useful if done right. Web ads, big new opportunity. TV ads, still important, radio, not so much.

"I'm just looking for opportunities to turn things around philosophically. College students love to hear about personal liberty and personal freedom and personal choices and, of course, this whole idea of getting our troops home, they're very receptive."

The first 5 million supporters of Dr. Paul are 'early adopters.' The next 10 million will require a modified approach.

But would I donate to the

But would I donate to the campaign? It might depend on Rand. Rand Paul has been a fabulous candidate so far, well-spoken, bright, level-headed and persuasive. I think he will spend his $2 mill next year very well, meaning targeted, professional, consistent messaging in smart media. If he doesn't that might indicate a Paulian mental block I can't support, in which case I'll go back to trying to produce my own ads.

Times HAVE changed

What we all experienced with the RP campaign is now history in more ways than one. As someone mentioned below the giant has awakened and is rapidly becoming the eight hundred pound gorilla sitting in everyone's living room. Yes, at times RP's people seemed to be deliberately sabotaging the movement. We all of us have learned a lot from that and from our experiences in our own backyards. The GOP was vicious and merciless in its destruction of the RP movement locally. Since then though we've been hearing people say: "If I'd known about RP then I would have voted for him." Since then a 1,000 copies of Russo's "America: From Freedom to Fascism" has been distributed throughout the community. A similar distribution of "Fall of the Republic" is about to begin. It's not so much about winning an office as it is about winning the hearts and minds of those who vote and who hold sway over groups. Most of us were rank rookies then now that is not so true.

PS: I never took my 4x4 foot RP sign down.

I hope that the focus of

I hope that the focus of whoever is running his campaign as well as the the grassroots is on Iowa. The biggest obstacle to overcome is being considered a top-tier candidate and Iowa is the best shot at that. Even without fund-raising ability, Huckabee got tons of media coverage for free since he was considered a top-tier candidate. Ron Paul was only a few thousand votes shy of a third place finish in Iowa. That would not have been ignored. People would have been talking about it. It may have been discredited as insignificant, but people would have been talking about it.

Doug Wead's strategy is the best I've heard yet:

i say we get

the boys at 4409 to run the campaign.

funny but true

they are very good.

;)

As great as that would be, they're probably better in an unofficial role

It's a different situation this time

Honestly, IMHO Ron's campaign was in all actuality tilting at windmills early on and the staff was set up that way. I don't think they had any intention of winning. It was just going to be a statement. When they realized the sleeping giant they awoke it was too late and they probably didn't know how to handle it. The transition from a campaign team focused on just making a statement to one that could actually win was hap hazard and full of rookies and rookie mistakes.

This time around we KNOW Ron can win. We can start his campaign that way. We're better organized. We're better educated. We're better experienced to know what to expect and how to handle situations. We know the rules and the games. We have rock solid issues and impenetrable logic. We have the present economy, assault on our liberties, political corruption and dismal foreign policy to back up our claims. We have more numbers and a disgruntled population to tap into. And we have feather brains and sock puppets to run against and the financial backing to compete. We will win this time, barring health concerns.

As for as the campaign team, if the usual suspects are tapped again, they WILL listen this time or be rode out of town on rails due to the overwhelming backlash. We know their history and will not tolerate shenanigans or incompetence. The base will take over and run the show and put Ron in office with or without those hooligans.

To answer your question the make up of his campaign team would only effect my method of support not my vote.

I'd still vote for him...

I'd still vote for him... but if it's an incompetent campaign, I don't know why I would donate/volunteer.

what

What parts would you change?

I assume he'd hire new team members next time. He got a lot of votes in Iowa and NH. If he had gotten 10% more or so, we may have won some of those or became one of the front runners.

Yes

Yes of course. Who else would we support?

Guiliani?

Dr Paul now has C4L and YAL

Dr Paul now has C4L and YAL to propel the campaign. Also the political climate is now on his side.
My sign is up

I can't take your post seriously...

the people Ron Paul picks to handle his campaign, is his choice.

and i'm sure he consults with all sorts of people on his choices. family, friends, business associates, certain people in the liberty movement... various people. yada yada yada...

some anonymous poster under the pseudonym "someguy", does not appear to be one of those people, who has any input.

I'm all ears, when it comes to who may or may not be on Ron Paul's staff, it certainly would be interesting.

I don't have any special knowledge, and I'm not qualified to TELL RON PAUL HE'S WRONG.

If you think you are, you certainly aren't making a very good case for it....

I mean really. You're posting anonymously to the DP, and posted a two sentence Oprah Winfrey Truism. "if you do the same thing, you get the same results"

lol.

with advise like that, I'm sure he's logging in every 5 minutes, weighing in on every word you type.

That's not right

It was my understanding that Kent Snyder (RIP, least we forget his money bomb for his funeral that was very poorly funded) that the grassroots took fire too fast.. the campaign did not expect freedom to be so popular. Snyder was calling friends, connections.. he has to ask Jeff Greenspan TWICE, and Jeff Greenspan was on the radio bragging about how Ron Paul's campaign asked him twice.

At the time I thought... he had to be asked twice? WTF?

And there was the western region manager, a hard core McCain supporter, sabotaging the grassroots everywhay he could, cauing in fighting between Meetups, lying, bribing with Ron Paul coins, His relationship with the Treunes in Reno PISSED people off... you can take Sue Lowden and the Trehunes... ever times they were mentioned in the newspaper the community would CRINGE because it had the GOP sticky corrupt BS stink, arrogant, and employing the King James Bible... how dare they!!!!

And then there was the national Meetup... The screams from across the nation of what was going on between meetups and campaign... the one that broke my heart was the Nashville Ron Paul rEVOLution... That was the greatest vid... man was it exciting.. elivs, ice tea, and they made th4e news... abd the campaign KILLED IT.

I took more attacks from the Ron paul campaign than Obama supporters, McCain supporters, Nader supporters... none of these folks hurt the rEVOltution as the "professional" campaign.

This rEVOLutiuon needs to GROW, it needs to get some color and more voices and capitalizie on the Indy registration.

I'm npt interested in saving the republican party. I'm interested in marginalizing the GOP and rendering both major parties obsolete

If you can't trust Ron Paul to hire staff for his campaign

then why would you trust him to hire staff for his cabinet? I trust him to run his campaign and America in 2013.

I will support him untill the day I'm horizontal and someone is

throwing dirt in my face.

Amen

Amen to that brother.

No, if I don't like one person on the campaign I will support

Barbara Boxer for President. Or maybe Barbara Streisand.

Come on

Not liking someone is one thing.. being taken for a ride and kicked to the side is another. NOT ONE REGISTERED REPUBLICAN within a 400 mile radius was contacted once by the campaign, never answered one letter, and when we went to meet them, traveling hundreds of miles, we were avoided on our issues and as for being a delegate, no one was asked.. and since the county GOP director was under arrest for hirering an assassine that missed his political opponate, no one around here wanted a thing to do with the GOP...
We like Ron Paul but he's NOT going to support us". I spent way too much money, like allot of people in hopes Ron Paul would FIGHT to get in the race, not sit at a debate and not say anything.

Obama and the neocons need to be addressed, and Ron Paul is one voice.. he wants to keep his congressional seat, fine... Let's get someone who wants to deliver more than a message, but ACTION.

Bitter?

Don't put faith in a single politician or campaign. They are human and will have human failings. Nevertheless, with limited resources and limited experience, they kicked off a movement larger than themselves. Where is the enduring McCain movement? Where is the enduring Romney movement? Even Obama has no identifiable grass roots movement that is likely to outlive him.

Even if Ron Paul died tomorrow (heaven forbid!) the movement he and his crew started would live on.

Ron Paul is about changing the debate. If you thought he had a chance to win in 2008, you were "taken for a ride" by your own enthusiasm. On the other hand, if you looked at it as a long term investment in the revival of the Republic, then you invested in the only stock with any possibility of a payoff.

2008 saw my 4th Nader vote

My mistake was thinking a major party candidate could have more influence than an Indy. I was wrong.

I was supporting his message, like many people, and the campaign CUT that message. We have dozenes of people showing up for our events.. campaign wanted to control, so they did, to it's death.

I thought I saw bet4rayal by the Greens to Nader, but it was nothing compared to what GOP did to RP supporters.

Granted

The GOP torpedoed Paul's campaign. I watched it happen in my own town. But the Paul people have been strengthened by the experience, and I expect the GOP will have a very very hard time ignoring him again.

We will support him ...It is OUR job to get him elected

While the campaign staff is bound by restrictive FEC rules and regulations, we are free market, guerrilla campaigners...Remember, "All politics is local" ~ Ron will win with our support, we must knock on EVERY door in EVERY precinct...starting now.

We have a distinct advantage over all other potential candidates. Even though our momentum has slowed, RP supporters are still working harder to spread the message of Liberty than any other individuals. And Ron is now the "Darling" of the MSM, that was our biggest hurdle last election season.

For those of you who took your signs down, time to rehang them. The fire has been lit....time to add the gasoline.

For liberty,

It's our job to spread the message of freedom

The rEVOLution is bigger than Ron Paul and it must GROW with Ron Paul supporting Liberty/Freedom candidates who understand the message, change the monetary policy to Mises, get back to the Constitution.. even if establishing a NWO, let it be a Mises NWO.

We need more voices and a wider appeal. We should take advantage of the 40% national Independent voter registration.

I'm not going to pump mpney into the GOP for Ron Paul only to be capitalized by Arnold. I did that once and I don't like the results.

He's catching on!

If it's the same geniuses who ushered in the barnstorming catch phrase, "He's catching on!" then I will keep my donations to myself.

I still don't trust...

I still don't trust Benton. I don't think he was inept, I think he was trying to sabotage the campaign... and I know this isn't a popular opinion.

When I created a facebook group to object to his involvement in C4L, he joined within hours of it's creation, just so he could taunt me and laugh about it. I wish every serious Ron Paul supporter would look into his past. Any moment can be infiltrated...

Really????

How can you believe that Jesse Benton, who is married to Ron Paul's granddaughter, would sabotage the campaign? How exactly would that be in his self-interest? I met Jesse in person in 2007, and I don't buy this at all. I'm not at all surprised about your facebook group.... If you created one attacking me with a bunch of conjecture regarding my motivations, then I might well do the same thing. If you have real evidence, let's see it!
