Mel Watt VS Paul Johnson
I support Ron Paul and I'm running against Mel Watt. I'm going to expose him for who he really is. The biggest problem we've had hear is no one has had the money to get the word out about who Watt really supports in Washington. I want him out more than any one. Most of us would love to see
Most of us would love to see Mel Watt deposed and disposed of. Since you are a Marine, have you joined Oath Keepers yet? I'm not sure, but they might also throw support behind you if you took the pledge - I know we like people who pledge to uphold their oath to the Constitution. Also, there are a few typos on your website. I can't wait to see Mel Watt go after the way he treated Tom Woods and then trashed HR 1207.

Of course I would like to support any of my liberty bretheran, but I must give you advice on one of your sentences: "Im a moderate..."
The only thing middle of the road is yellow lines and dead skunks and moderate usually means "dont care enough" or "I dont really have any real positions". There are zero GREAT moderates. Nobody has ever heard of the term. John McCain is a moderate. Tim Pawlenty is a moderate. Rudy Giuliani is a moderate. You need to be 100% for liberty or not. Sorry, I am not reigning on your parade at all and of course I would support you, but I want you to write down all of your main positions. Thanks!

i would change the words on the front page from "socialist republic" to socialist democracy, as well as the words "free democracy" to free republic.
You have some good policy positions
that many here could support.
I think you could get more support by highlighting some additional Ron Paul type positions, like non-interventionism, and End the Fed, and some stiffer language regarding Federal over-reaching in violation of many parts of the Constitution and Amendments.
I applaud your actions to try to do something about the problems we face, and you have a big job ahead.
The current trend is freedom-oriented issues, and stiff curtailment of federal spending and power. If you want more support from the r3VOLution people, fleshing-out more detail of your positions on those issues will help.
As you can see, Ron Paul, Gary Johnson, Peter Schiff, and Rand Paul are making good progress with those positions, and more will come. John Duncan of TN has retained his incumbency for numerous elections with positions like that, and is a Congressman very much like Ron Paul in his voting record.
It's the wave of the future.
Paul, you're not very libertarian...

I agree. The only way you will be able to win against Watt is to run a non-interventionist policy. The Ron Paul crowd can bring you alot of votes but you need to bring in all the anti-war vote in order to win.
Watt needs to be taken out of congress. I think if he is exposed to his district then you have a good chance at winning.

Yes I agree we need to only use our military as intended. We can't afford the high price of business as usual. Instead of having our bases shield other countries abroad we need them here. Other countries should be responsible for building up their own forces and quit relying on us. As far as war goes only congress has the authority to declare war. We should always have a open debate and only go to war if the people are behind it. I know the hardship of combat and the stress it causes not only on the service men and women but also on the families never knowing when that dreaded knock on the door will come. As far as Iraq goes it's time to come home. Afghanistan is a complicated task. I know exactly what needs to be done and that's why congress needs to set the mission standards for bench marks to be accomplished or get out.

Well I wish there wasn't a need for them...
and people would use their vote as a term limit - but that sadly isn't the case - I support term limits only because the game is so rigged to favor the incumbent.
But now what I want to know - is why are your views on national security as outlined on your website so different from what you just wrote above?
from your site - "We must also coordinate with our friends for the common good of our nations. We can't defeat terrorist alone, it takes an international effort. We have to share information and coordinate jointly with our allies to ensure national security. National security reaches beyond our borders and we must not let politics get in the way of our safety."
And why is Afghanistan so complicated? Ron Paul voted to allow military force there, but he has stated would have brought the troops home not long after they went in, when Al-Qaeda's structure there was dismantled - a long time ago.

When it comes to terrorist
When it comes to terrorist activity's we have to work with other intelligence agencies to protect life from terrorist activities. For example if you know that someone will be trying to kill my wife tomorrow by a car bomb would you tell me or let my wife die. It's that blunt. If someone in the French government gets intelligence that a terrorist cell here was just activated to carry out major attack on our citizens don't you think that type of cooperation is needed. That's why I said politics shouldn't get in the way of cooperation. This isn't about politics it's about a reality that I've seen first hand. You said you were a Veteran. Have you served in Iraq or Afghanistan or dealt with any terrorist first hand. I have and I can assure you they love to kill Americans, and sharing information between governments doesn't go against what I said before. As far as Afghanistan goes there is no infrastructure like we had in Iraq to build on. This country has to built from the ground up. Afghan security forces must be strong enough to take and hold a town and ensure the safety of it's citizens and they have to take a no tolerance stance on corruption. Once the towns are secure by the Afghan people the battle is over for us because then and only then the Afghan people can hold their own country and work with the Pakistani government to eliminate the immediate threat the Taliban poses their countries. This would be the best approach because of the anti-American sentiment in Pakistan. If we leave they will go back and reestablish their presents within 3-5 months. This is a winning strategy and one that needs to be address in congress. The friends I have over there now are tired of clearing a town and then doing it again 2 months later. It's the same as we were doing in Iraq. Congress needs to issue Letters of Marque and Reprisal with a clear mission with bench marks to be accomplished if not then we leave and leave them to their own fate. I would prefer a sable government in place to stabilize the region. It's not as black and white as you may think and that's why I don't ever want to see us get in another situation like this again.
