A Patriot looks at those in Congress, 2009
Written by Steve Haven:
True Defense of The Constitution by an elected body has commenced for the first time in my life, or my father's, my father's father, or his father, and his.
And each one there
Has one thing shared:
They have sweated beneath the same sun,
Looked up in wonder at the same moon,
And wept when it was all done,
For loss of Liberty
Diminished Country
And what less he left
to his son.

Two hundred thirty-three years ago, the first iteration of Continental Congress convened in Philadelphia at Carpenter's Hall, composed of men who did not know that they stood upon the threshold of changing the course and history of mankind, forever. A photo journal of our Nation's Defending Fathers and Mothers, convened in St. Charles, is playing on a split-screen page as I write this, filled with the images of New American Patriots. As in 1774, Providence moves among and through this fine group of devoted Americans, who likewise step across a threshold of unforeseen results. We all have the knowledge and God's confirmation in our hearts that their accomplishments will bring back the long tattered Standard of Liberty, and clean off the vile desecrations and defilements from our Constitution.
I am inspired by their focus and ability to guide and shepherd their energies, their desires, their frustrations, grievances, ideas and inspirations into one, American, democratic-representation; with the drive and motive to be about the business of defending, and re-instating our Constitution and Founding Principles. Fortunate to live high atop Our Purple Mountains Majesty in Colorado, looking across the Fruited Plain toward St. Charles Illinois, it is easy to see the Mantle of History, Authority, and Providence fall upon these, our truest keepers of Liberty, —every-day Americans, preserving, protecting and defending The Constitution of The United States.
To Continental Congress, this Citizen sends tidings:
Your standard is high and clear— Our Founding Fathers, (now your brothers) have set a concise structure, The Constitution.
Do not fear the ire and degradations of those who have torn at our Country's fabric, we know they are Freedom's enemy and we are made proud by their insults and attempted marginalization. Truth will prevail.
You have authority and right, as you are formed in the same body and image of that Congress which formed this Country.
Continue to move and act with the confidence of Right; we all pledge our support and defense of you all, and your right actions. Growing numbers stand beside you, and your inspired actions grow the numbers.
Set a strong foundation; no doubt as in 1774, 1775 will be necessary, which will in turn, necessitate 1776. We do not expect final resolve; only the foundational course that you have already set yourselves upon.
Fear nothing but God, Hold to nothing but the Constitution, your principles, and each other.
Allow me my pledge of undying support, and this salute:
For Liberty!
