I'm a mechanical engineering student graduating in the spring. I live in Michigan and our economy is horrible. Luckily, I am completely flexible as far as where I work. (single, no house, not much family in the area....) So far, I've looked mostly in the energy sector (oil, nuclear) bc they seem to be looking for recent grads. I don't have any engineering experience, but i have a pretty good GPA. Any advice regarding good companies who are hiring or good states/countries to work in would be great. I'm very open to working abroad.
Any advice would be great - thanks.
PS, we just started a YAL chapter at Western Michigan University

you have....and move to Costa Rica. Join me....Real freedom
tell me more about Costa Rica
Do you still have U.S. citizenship / pay U.S. taxes? How Libertarian is it? If you kept your U.S. citizen, what are your rights there? Are there quality job opportunities for engineers? Is Spanish the primary language?
I know C.R. is beautiful and has tons of protected land. I think they have the highest standard of living in Central America as well.
When do you move there?
Thanks for the info. After putting up with MI winters my whole life, C.R. sounds wonderful.

What's the language there?

GOOD LUCK
If your looking for employment in oil & gas try Wyoming or North Dakota low unemployment 4% my brother works there says they can't find enough people to fill positions.Actually finding a place to live is harder than finding a job companies shipping in trailers for workers some mining jobs available too. Offut Air Force base in Bellevue Nebraska hiring as well again 4% unemployment. Good Luck
Thanks
I'll definitely look into that. That is a whole lot better than MI where the unemployment rate is over 15%.
Brad
