SC State Senator Larry Grooms: A Great Evening with Ron Paul

An e-mail I received from State Senator Larry Grooms of South Carolina, thought you'd like to see:

A Great Evening with Ron Paul
11/17/2009 12:13:25 PM

I had the great pleasure of spending some one-on-one time with Dr. Ron Paul when he spoke in Columbia last week. As he and I spoke, and then as I heard his lecture, his words resonated so clearly.

If only the other South Carolina gubernatorial candidates had bothered to attend. They would have learned something about freedom and liberty and free markets and limited government. But instead, they decided to continue to focus on their own agendas and those of the entrenched special interests that are funding their campaigns.

But I know that you understand these issues. That's why I need your help in my run for governor as I stand up for the very principles Dr. Paul laid out so rationally.

If you donate just $20 today, together we'll make a forceful statement that South Carolina stands for Freedom and Liberty.

Below is just a sampling of what Dr. Paul said... and what the other candidates missed:

On the healthcare reform package, Dr. Paul stated “Of course, you know there is no such thing as anything really coming free, especially from the government. The government can only take from one group and give to another.

On the stimulus package, he stated, “Why couldn’t we have just suspended, at least, the income tax? Say ‘OK, folks, go to work and you don’t have to pay any taxes for the next two years’… It would have been a bigger stimulus … I think that would have been a much better way of dealing with it.”

On the topic of individual liberty, Dr. Paul noted, “There are some people who say ‘No, you can’t do that. We want to tell you exactly what’s going to make you a better person.’ So then another gang from Congress and Washington and politicians come in and say ‘A-ha! We’re going to make you a better person, we’re going to regulate your habits and regulate all your lifestyles. We’re going to regulate what you smoke and what you drink and everything else because you’re not smart enough to do that.’”

And on the subject of capitalism and the free markets, “… that’s where you get the greatest amount of prosperity and the best distribution no matter what they tell you about how much government you need to make it in their system.”

Dr. Paul is right in every one of these instances. And you know that we need leaders on both the federal and state levels who are willing to stand up for these ideals.

If you believe in these same principles of freedom, individual liberty and limited government that I do... I need your financial support. We have to take our government back if we are going to move our state forward.

Help me stand for Liberty by joining the Larry Grooms for Governor Campaign TODAY!

If every one of you receiving this email could give just $20 right now, we will be able to make a difference and bring Liberty back to the people of this great state!!!

Whoo-hoo! Ron Paul has coat-tails

It still amazes me how far we've come -- they don't distance themselves from us anymore!

So it's election time...

But a look at his voting record would be wise.

His issues page is a bit

His issues page is a bit fuzzy and generic.

Federal Reserve to the American People:

"Catapultam habeo. Nisi pecuniam omnem mihi dabis, ad caput tuum saxum immane mittam."

Who is John Galt? Vote ███ ███ 2012!

whats his voting record?

Is he just jumping on the RP bandwagon? does he support RP's and the founding father's views? He just points out what RP says. Needs some investigation.
