Grayson assails Paul for refusing to commit to McConnell

Paul had raised nearly as much money as Grayson when the last reporting period ended in September, and he is relying on support from the libertarian-minded voters from around the country who backed his father, Rep. Ron Paul of Texas, in his presidential campaign.

The tussle between the two candidates is just the latest since Paul emerged as a serious contender in recent months. A recent WHAS poll showed that Paul was slightly ahead, although Grayson was within the margin of error.

Last month, in an interview with WYMT-TV in Hazard, Grayson implied that Paul, who moved to Kentucky after college, is a carpet-bagger.

“He's an outsider, he's not a Kentuckian,” said Grayson, who likes to point out that he is a fifth-generation Kentuckian.

Paul responded by saying that he has been a Kentuckian longer than Grayson, who as a college student supported Democrat Bill Clinton for president, has been a Republican.

Adams said the attacks show that the Grayson campaign is worried. “I think the wheels are falling off,” he said.

Nate Hodson, Grayson's campaign manager, said of the Paul campaign: “They think they can convince Republicans the way to build our party is to attack it and tear it down. We disagree.”

on Rand Paul. The neo-cons are already conceding that Trey Grayson cannot win against Rand Paul so what do they do? They offer up their Plan B in the form of Cathy Bailey - yet another neo-con in the true mold of Bush neo-cons. It's nothing less than a gang-up maneuver on Rand Paul to try to label his ideas as "extreme". Since when is following the Constitution extreme? Cathy Bailey has no idea of what she is in for and the people of Kentucky people will see right through this.
