I had a friend who had one of these 'blowers' and he could not start that car with alcohol on his breath. They work.

They are like their own private little "drug war lobbying team", trying to influence legislation for more Police State every day.

I once was hit head on driving up I-95 from New York to Connecticut by a car full of drunk kids. They flew over the center rail at 85 miles an hour. That Monte Carlo landed on my hood like bird shit. I couldn't escape it.
I never felt a thing. But it left me with permanent brain injury and almost killed my passenger with a broken sternum and a badly bruised heart.
Totalled my new car.
And guess what they had no insurance, no registration and the car was stolen from an aunt.

that every driver on the road needs to pay a penalty for your injury, regardless of whether they never took a drink in their lives, or if they never had an accident. They should be stopped, and searched, and have their bodies and property invaded warrantlessly, "just to check" in case they might have had half a beer 2 hours ago

You're absolutely right. And most dealy DUI wrecks are done
be repeat offenders. They get less cautious because they keep getting away with it.
There's no one solution besides execution and that ain't happening. Half of the law makers in the country are drunks.
I don't care if a person wants to get blitzed. Just don't pick up a 4000 pound weapon and send it my way at 60 miles an hour.
It took a miracle for me not to butcher that carload of kids who hit me. I was in the ER right next to a few of them. I was praying for God to help me forgive.
If they had hit a loved one of mine I would have gone to prison for life. They'd all be dead.
