Oath Keepers Quillow Auction! Thank you everyone.
My Dear Daily Paul Family:
What a wonderful, worthy pro-active idea by the founder of Oath Keepers Stewart Rhodes to have a Constitution Care Package Drive, to send our Armed Forces the information they need. This package will help our men and women carry out their sworn duty to OUR Constitutional Republic.
I have 3 quillows and 1 throw to help raise Oath Keepers a MILLION dollars. LOL Here they are, together:
These quillows are bit different than the last ones. They all have FLEECE backing. I love fleece it is so warm and cuddly. These items are great to have in the car, home, or cold dorm room.
We will run the auction same as last time. To bid, put the number of the item and your bid in the comment section. The auction will end on Monday, November 30th at 4:30pm EST The winners will send the money DIRECTLY to the care package web site at: www.ok4troops.com If possible just email me a copy of your receipt and the name and address where the quillow or throw should be sent. Last time the winners were so kind to send a email receipt to me and I thought that was very kind.

The goal is to have some fun, and to raise as much as we can for the Oath Keepers. I realize these are VERY hard times and well, let's try to do some good and have a few laughs. I must confess, it has been a while since I worked with fleece in a quillow and it was a bit of a challenge. The important thing is, the troops getting their care packages. Regardless, I know these will be so warm and snuggly you won't mind that they are not perfect. hee,hee
1) Pachyderm Throw: 38x49 - This majestic beast is powerful knowing and with a "Don't tread on me look."
2) Retro 50's: 41x65 - Small town, living with the Diner and Drive In movie theater.
3) Gold / Primitive 40x64- This is a beautiful quillow. I call it primative because of the designs on it. It looks like Aztec or something but I really don't know. The gold is printed on top and really sets it off.
4) Dragon Fly & Retro: 40x68 - The pocket is Dragon Flies and the other fabric is a retro fabric.
Well, that's it, hope we can do some good. Wish I could do more.

woohooo! now a rant about the OK donation area...
So now comes the making payment part...LOL I went and attempted to make a payment but they seriously need some help with that website. It ask you for your name, email address, and phone number...and then it tells you that there was an error and there is nothing in your basket. There is a "go to paypal account" button so I'm assuming that they are using paypal, but there isn't one iota of information to let you know that before you hit submit. Surely there is some help out there for these guys...they'd probably get a lot more in donations if the sight didn't look so amateurish and functioned properly.
If I can get a hold of someone there and send payment through pay pal I will, otherwise I will simply mail a check. However, I really don't want to snail mail a check...My feet are cold and I want my quillow's! :O)

Had to show up for the quillow auction...
my Grandmother made us all quillows for Christmas a few different times..what started out as quilted soft goodness ended up being scratchy wool type crap later on in life due to her age and eyesight. I still cherish each and every one of my quillows whether they were gifts or I simply "borrowed" them from the motor home. :O)
That being said, I think you people are to cheap...well except Nystrom and he's going for my favorite one.....dragonflies are very special. So here is my bid list.

How much time does it take to make each quillow?
Some years ago it took
all day to make one. Then I got better and faster. Now, I'm taking longer again because of aches and pains. I lay it out on the floor and cut the lengths and get down and pin the fabrics together then sew, then turn the fabrics to the right sides add the pocket. The quillows are actually fairly straight forward and not hard. Pieced and hand quilted quilts are another story, and take a lot of time and work.
The reason I came up with the auctioning quillows is that donating is sometimes a dull and no fun thing to do. I thought by having the auction it would inspire people to donate for a good cause and get something in return.
I would like to thank my husband, who's wages over the years has purchased the materials I use, so that I can donate these quillows and quilts to causes I believe in.

Well, I must say, the quillows are very beautiful.
Not to diminish
Not to diminish the intent of the "quillows". It is certainly for a great cause, but am I the only that finds this a little off-base? If I am I'll be quiet.. Maybe some stars and stripes, a constitution, a "we the people" or something that bespeaks LIBERTY..

I try and use fabrics from my
stash because I don't have the funds to buy special but it would be nice to have LIBERTY. Maybe, if I come by some extra funds and I start seeing this country move towards LIBERTY rather than away, I will be motivated to make some.
