Chamber Of Commerce Solicits Money For Economist Who Will Give Bad Review Of Health Care Bill
The U.S. Chamber of Commerce is soliciting funds to pay an economist $50,000 to study health care reform legislation and issue (what the lobby presumes) will be a negative review, providing ammunition to shoot down health care reform in the Senate, reported by the post.
The Newspaper obtained an e-mail from James P. Gelfand, the senior manager of health policy at the Chamber of Commerce detailing how the plan would work:
"The economist will then circulate a sign-on letter to hundreds of other economists saying that the bill will kill jobs and hurt the economy. We will then be able to use this open letter to produce advertisements, and as a powerful lobbying and grass-roots document.
But, what the Post forgot to mention:
Isn't it a shame? At a time when the US Chamber of Commerce should be heavily busy promoting American companies at home and abroad, that's when its executives want to spend more times in Washington, DC in order to bribe certain members of congress to pass laws in their favor. which would in turn make the general public unhappy. Also another huge responsibility for the US Chamber of Commerce ought be in engaging in a campaign to deunionize these corporations, freeing them from coercive contracts that would simply enable these US firms like Asian and most European companies to pay good salaries and benefits based on an employee performance, not just under obligation to give a group of mobs what they want or if not, they'll sink the boat under the water. Uninon greedy contracts do weigh heavily on United States companies' success and operation. If you want to bleed your company or go out of business fast, bringing a union. Many union members tend to be the laziest employees to ever have working for one's firm because they don't have to work hard to get what they want since their work status is classified in a protected club, in fact they are not worried about getting fired for poor performance either because if they do go thru dismissal, it's more than likely their union head may force the employer to take them back with excuses. Braking or cracking down on these unions would make US enterprises extremely competitive and strive to great profit margins with plenty of funds left to save and invest for more job creations. And the Obama Administration should also take blame for throwing its weight behind unions.
Some of these business COO's, CEO's, and presidents have to be reminded that they need to leave politics alone, and remain in the private sector to be productive as they were hired to be. Politics cannot make your firm profitable by letting a polician decide for it while more political decisions always resulted in bad consequences. Politicians' jobs are to represent their constituents before a government body, and in return the government owes full protection to all of its Citizens in preventing chaotic harm and danger, but not run private companies. As long as these business managers follow good-sense trade laws enacted by congress or state legislatures, that should be okay and shall prosper abundantly, not just a few but everyone.
The Bush and Obama Administrations have been absolutely right right right right right ten-fold to tell these executives how to run these corporations and how much they should get paid, because these executives are the ones engaging themselves deeply in government policy mankings, when those policies take a toll on them and their company operations, and don't know what to do they throw these firms on the ground, then the federal government has to take the tax payers funds to rescue them, even if it's the executives' faults. They don't have time to think positively in making their company operations better--their minds are too stuffed with political views by crippling their knowledge and right-thinking. But, Fox News Republican club members, especially shawnnny Hannity and Glennn Beck to name a few, don't see it that way by hitting on the Obama Administration at full speed, even though Obama Administration officials didn't not put us in the mess were are in right now for a war we should never fight costing 10 billion dollars a month for 6 years turning many Americans broke unbale to pay their bills including car loans and mortgages. Fifty percent of Americans don't even have $ 10,000 in their savings accounts for a rainy day. What an embarrassment in a poweful, rich country like America!
It is strongly suggested that congress should pass a law banning those executives and their company representatives from getting involved in political affairs or government policy makings and making contacts with politicians Monday thru Friday or during business hours. This regulation would be forcing them to remain busy in the private sector in order to get things done during work days. Simply come to Washington on holidays and week-ends to spend times with friends and family members. Remind them that they were hired to operate a private business, but not elected as government officials. If they want to be government employees, then apply or run for public office. If they need to come to Washington or State Capitals while their companies are functioning during business hours, first, call or email to make an appointment and indicate the reason (s) for their visits. Failure to do so would result into hefty fines and even jail times.
It may sound stupid, but this would be one of the few good laws in the congressional books encouraging these business leaders to make their subordinates more productive resulting in great profitable surplus of funds. Even, Ron Paul brought up this issue last year during his presidential bid. Dr. Paul said in order for one to be productive and counter-productive in the private business world, your mind must be clear of political vendettas. Sen. Richard Lugar of Indiana, who like Ron Paul wants all Americans do well, has echoed the same sentiment many times. Government, regardless what country, is an institution of force paid by its Citizens in the form of taxation and fines whether fair or not, which cannot make you fruitful, but can turn into a criminal as 1-2-3. Sometimes, government can make you feel good, but it depends which administration was elected and put in place to run or manage that government.
As a Citizen, come to DC when you have and must to Monday thru Friday to promoting your business privatey free of government interference, but not for seeking political favors by using the company funds in lobbying any time you feel like to rendering these firms sleazy, bias, and non-productive with mass lay-offs.
Americans should call for the resignation of the current head of the this politicized US Chamber of Commerce, which should have nothing to do with health care reform being debated by congress to save more American lives and avoid bankruptcy due to high medical costs.
