Congressional Black Caucus?

Today during discussion on the voting, the Congressional Black Caucus was brought up. Not being familiar with this, I figured it was just a nickname for some congressional group. However, after I did a Google, I found out that it's literally called "Black" because it's members have dark skin!

This is outrageous, it's one of the most racist things you could have for determining membership, and this is right in one of the highest branches of our government, Congress! A congressional caucus that is based upon skin color?

Am I the only one that was not aware of this absurdity?

So is there a White...

Congression Caucus? Just curious, or is that racist?

No, there is no Congressional White Caucus.

But isn't any group that bases their membership upon race or skin color completely racist, regardless of what the race or skin color happens to be?

Ron Paul's Convention Speech

Hush ....

You'll be labelled as politically incorrect or worse if you point out this hypocrisy.

Our Government is corrupt

to the bone. We just need to keep waking people up. This will take many years to do, I'm thinking 6-8 before a real revolution can take hold.

Think that`s bad, how about the "blue dog Dems" and the "yellow

dog Dems".

It is hard to imagine a more stupid or more dangerous way of making decisions than by putting those decisions in the hands of people that pay no price for being wrong.

Yeah , you just gotta be a "dog".

Doing a little research, it

Doing a little research, it seems the very unpopular(at least on this site due to him trying to mess up the audit of the federal reserve)Mel Watt, who's a member of the Congressional Black Caucus, used "obscene racial epithets" directed at Ralph Nader, in a face to face meeting. I'd never heard of this before. But it makes me like Mel Watt even less now.

Yep, Mel Watt! That must have been how it was brought up.

Anyone that understands liberty and equal rights, would never accept membership into that group, ever.

The very existence of the group is an advertisement of how ignorant the members of it are, and how ignorant Congress is in general.

By basing their group on race or skin color, instead of principles, they are committing the very same injustices they claim to be trying to correct. By accepting these sort of groups, Congress is no better.

...and I guess ultimately the people.

We should not accept congressional caucuses based on race or skin color! They are entirely divisive!

Ron Paul's Convention Speech

There is just about every

There is just about every racial caucus you can think of(hispanic caucus, asian caucus, etc)but there is no white caucus. Some have pointed that out, when whites become a minority in this country and hispanics the new majority(largely due to decades of uncontrolled illegal immigration), will the hispanic caucus disband(fat chance)and a white caucus form?

In this Politically-Correct Age

I don't understand how we can possibly have these groups that discriminate exclusively on race. Black Congressional Caucus? NAACP? United Negro College Fund? Black Entertainment Television? If there were white counterparts to these organizations, Jesse Jackson's head would explode! Can you imagine the outrage if there existed a United Caucasian College Fund- with no BLACKS allowed? Stunning yet unapologetic hypocrisy!

Nothing less than cognitive dissonance can allow a society to believe that only white people can be racist. Amazing job of programming.
