Ron Paul was on Fox Business at 1:45 EST, for a short telephone interview. Host brought up Ron Paul again, afterwards, at 1:58. Treating his opinion on gold like he's a guru. Paul on gold, mentioned again by a floor trader being interviewed at 2:02. » |

Ezra Taft Benson is honorable mention
Top 10 is tough to work with, but I do agree Ron SHOULD be in the top 10.
I think you could make a very good case for Ezra Taft Benson, church leader, and courageous cabinet member under Eisenhower for 8 years.
Benson was an outspoken critic of our leviathan government and always attacking the enemies within.
The list above has only one person in the last 80 years- Ron Paul - which just tells us what a dearth of true statesmen we have had.
Two other honorable mentions:
Cleon Skousen, who has influenced the liberty movement in a major way, like the John Birch Society has.
Lastly, Senator Taft, whom Ron Paul frequently quotes, particularly when talking about foreign policy.
The fact that there are virtually no great Americans today demonstrates how complete the takeover of our American civilization the bankers have accomplished. The RevoLution and the Internet may be helping to change that though.

It was a 2 or 3 minute interview talking about gold. Ron said that even tho gold has been demonetized for awhile, it seems to be heading back to that role. He talked about how he has bought gold coins annually since 1971. That about sums it up as they finished the interview by noting the current gold price.

Man if he has been doing that he has got a KILLER retirement fund going. Damn capital gains taxes though.... They really get you with a tax at every bloody turn. That people still think that's normal is sad as can be.

He can sell his gold coins little by little to coin dealers and I do not believe there is ANY tax (if you keep the sale under $10,000.00 per transaction).
How can they prove what you PAID for it or even WHEN you bought it?

Gold and silver increases not taxed as capital gains, but rather as ordinary income! Doesn't that suck?

You can buy gold inside your Roth IRA and not have capital gains tax on it. Only drawback is you can't take possession. You'll need a self-directed IRA and someone to hold it for you that you can trust.

Yep, I've had GLD and SLV in my Roth IRA for awhile. The only problem is that it's not the gold itself. But, the funds claim to be backed by nearly 99.99% Gold (only selling a little here and there to pay for holding costs). It's been a nice ride up from 78 to 113 for GLD. Thanks, Ron!
GLD and SLV are to be avoided
Supposedly neither of them have the metals they claim to. The Fed Govt is hiding the Gold covered Tungsten bars in GLD because GLD can't be audited. Something bad is going to happen eventually. Don't be the one holding the bag.
