"Nov. 20 (Bloomberg) -- A U.S. senator said he would seek to block any legislation containing a measure to remove the Federal Reserve’s shield from congressional audits of the central bank’s interest-rate decisions.
The House Financial Services Committee yesterday advanced a proposal requiring audits of the Fed that was introduced by Representative Ron Paul, a Republican from Texas. Senator Judd Gregg, a New Hampshire Republican and member of the Banking Committee, said in an interview today that the measure “would do fundamental damage to the strength of our financial structure as a nation.”
“I would not vote for any bill and I would filibuster any bill that had this language in it,” Gregg said, referring to the legislative delaying tactic that requires 60 Senate votes to break. "

We need to get someone running against this guy from both the republican an democrat party. We need all of his constituents to show him that the people have the power and criminals and frauds will be held accountable.
This guy is a fraud who should of went down with Abramoff but if he wants to go down with the FED instead then he has chosen the wrong side of history.

I listened to Mel Watt during the banking hearing then I listened to this a-hole rant about how the thieves at the FED wouldn't be allowed to do more thieving if an audit were to present itself. The FED is $TRILLIONS into this on the American Taxpayers debt card and these slime dare to defend this insanity. Are they insane. If this jerk were in Texas he'd be crucified. We're getting really active here and these reps seem to be responding, it helps that Dr Paul lives here.

I'm sure that he's planning on getting a fat cushy job with some banking firm, after authoring the TARP bill, and now working this blocking angle for the audit bill.
